Have had quite a few such instances and the money was ALWAYS refunded. The refunds are processed by IRCTC either the same day or the next. Its more likely your bank is taking its time to credit it. Contact the bank first with all the details.

In general, I have never seen people NOT getting money, but have seen delays happening, either at IRCTC (rare) or at the account holders bank. In your case it appears the latter is true. Visit the branch if possible and sort it out. It might be lying in a suspense account.

It normally takes between 4 to 10 days.

if IRCTC is saying that they have refunded the money, then you should probably research further than thinking that they are cheating. As mentioned earlier, it ALWAYS comes back, for me, and I have never heard negative from anyone.

The first time I was faced with this 'refund' situation many years ago, I called them up long distance, all worried about a trifling amount.

These days I don't even think about it. Shows up credited in the credit card statement every time, without fail.

hi, thanks every, i felt so happy rit now, my money finally got back, because the banker suspended the money, i called several times, and they do not give a positive reply, luckily i talked to a nice guy, he helped me out, again thanks for all the replys. and if any body is facing the same problem, ask a receipt number from irctc first, if still not getting , better call the banker, the same way i did.

You didn't mention whether it is a bank account or a credit card? If it is a card did you check the card account. Usually the money is refunded by IRCTC for all failed transaction in a day or two. Its the bank/card company that take time to show it in your account.

Wait a few days before getting all worked up. The number given by IRCTC is the transaction reference and should be showing up in your bank soon. If its been a while, then complain in writing to the bank as well as IRCTC
