It's a challenge, to complete the story in nycankese, with points awarded for getting as many key words as possible into a sentence, and points deducted if anyone can understand what you're on about.

Let me make an attempt.

You get what you pay for ! That seems to be the motto when the nanny state tweets Paulistas to your pillow.

After the long haul, found the Sling at The Raffles to be citrus and mellow.

Ladies and whiners ! Crack open your codebooks, and put aside your googlebots - Lots of new opportunities to learn new key words

Thought you might have fallen by the wayside in the nether regions of Adelphi Mall. There's beautiful young women there, who will smile sweetly at you from their doorways, and if you go inside, they will take all your money off you and pack you off with a high-end audiophile stereo system

I have an app, or an addin, or an iThing, or a yo-yo catcher, or whatever you want to call it according to your choice of operating system. It remembers my typing, so that the yo you can come back like the boomerang.

...or, I have on the PC (Firefox/Linux/AMD); I haven't spent enough time alone and far from home with my tablet to have thought about that.

So, like, you played the part of Satan in that tired old joke with the punchline "Jesus Saves!"

One night in SIN !

My hometown newspaper, New York Times has a running series of articles in the Travel section, which goes by the popular title "36 hour in …." of which Singapore is one ! It is aimed at folks who could use some R&R between meetings and useless trips. But this post is not about what to see and what not to see. What to buy or not to buy ! I will not recommend Singapore Flyer, or Night Safari ? or pseudo Disney-wannabe Sentosa Island, or the Botanical Gardens. You are also not going to get clues about Singaporean Soi Cowboy, or the underbelly of Geylang ! This is after all, a family friendly, PG-11 site ! Maybe I'll even give FFW a pass !

If you are staying near Marina Bay, sure do walk through Gardens by the Bay. Since one has to eat, not all meals can be expensed; so you are bound to discover cheap dining in 'Spore; And you happen to be heading to the food courts in Chinatown lunch or dinner, do walk through Buddha Tooth Temple.

Other than that, take everything in this post under advisement of your common sense and legal advisement of your counsel !

T-7 th HR: It was not easy to finagle a pass into the Lounge at IGI-T3, but I did (stingy B*s, them Checkin gals - What goes of your father !) and am in a mood for a cold beer before I gather strength to jump into the huddle called Airbus 380 to Changi ! Only a father can proud of his obese humpty-dumpty ! If boarding Airbus 380, even in front, is a mess; deplaning is worse. If you want for your reputation and image to take a hit - Buy and deploy an A380 !

00 HR: Kudos to Singaporeair Girl for doing their best to ensure smooth deplaning. Not in a hurry to get out (That was a bad decision !) Dragging my carryon and making it work faster than it's advanced age, I reach the immigrations hall ! Long lines that I am use to at Changi are nonexistent ! The privilege of flying State's pride and joy - SQ

Once I reach the taxi line ! OMG, this even beats the mess at JFK Terminal 4 in any given evening. Except these are obedient and patient 'sporeans gladly resigned to long lines !

I woke up my friend -

Quote:
"Dude, thousands in the line"

"Easy Taxi"

Ten minutes later, I'm heading to my hotel. Stand in the lines you solyent-green addicts !

02 th HR: Checked in, Wi-Fi access squared away. It amazes me that in the EU and US, biggies are so tightfisted with wifi access, if free.

I have to unpack quick, and SnS, then get ready for the day.

04 th HR: Buffet breakfast little bit of everything ! I head to SMRT to get to my meeting place. Is it hot, or is it hot ! Stifling hot wearing a tie I cannot fathom wearing this day-in-day-out ! But then this is land that Mr Lee built

08 th HR: "Let's Eat" If there is a culture that is obsessed with food, Singaporeans would be in the top three ! It is evident in every corner, from end to end, you cannot go hungry in 'Spore. Maxwell Center for quick bite ? Or, boozy lunch at Marina Bay ? Maxwell it is ! Walking through the streets of Chinatown is a juxtaposition of old and new !

Walking through Chinatown, one sees the juxtaposition of the hybrid british colonial style, and the later chinese adaptation - Interesting place, this otherwise soul less town ! Oops country [I hope the ignore this comment of mine, and don't ban me for life ]

12 th HR: A long hectic day, nothing gets finalized, so what ? "Let s Eat" the flip side of the unofficial greeting of 'sporians "Did you eat yet" In the case; let's drink ! Raffles ? We do have a 'spore virgin - He needs to drink that god-awfully-expensive-sugary-drink that memsahibs sipped - Singapore sling !

It's 630 PM in Singapore, 530AM in New York, and 11:30AM in Amsterdam. I can drink for another four, till it's 930AM in Manhattan.

Yes, you can get Guinness, yes you can get Amstel, Yes there is also Corona ! and yes you can get even Brooklyn Lager in 'spore ! You just have to be tenacious enough to find where !

Yes, there are happy hours at every ilk of restaurants lining Clark Quay. After hours on a work week, you can feast on eye candies from the corporate ghettos that stack one floor over other. With exception to one, none of us are sub-five O, those eye candies are bad for our sugar and diabetes ! If Ernest could do Bellini at Harry's Bar and hold court with hot headed venetian contessas ! Surely we can at oogle ice cold aging Lucy Lu's at Long Bar or wrinkled skinned Crocodile Dunee's groupies at the Writer's bar !!

Two hours later, three black cards are swiped at the bar, we leave Raffles - Pretty penny that bill. For that kind of money, we could buy all of BB's merry band of friends in Pottygunj unlimited Kingfisher Premium ! After Raffles, we decide to hit the food courts ! And see some performers in the nearby square do their tricks.

15 th HR:
Nothing like a good spicy-brothy noodle soup and cold beers. But wait, we are really DOMs, we oogle at things that we shouldn't !

16 th HR: It is time to call my Tokyo ! It's morning in NooYok, mother ship needs to be kept in the loop. A cab ride to the hotel, . I pick a good Blue mountain Jamaican Grande from the nearby Starbuck/Bigbucks on my way up - A quick video-conference call is the in order.

17 th HR: Should I hit the underbelly ? Orchard ? Geylang ? Orchard ? Geylang ? Geez, double-mid-life-crisis eh ? It's 1AM in 'Spore, noon in New Amsterdam and 6PM in Amsterdam, Naw ! I should do some sleeps !
