Better than Bakkhali is Henry's island. Just adjacent to Bakkhali, the spot is managed by fisheries dept. Very well managed. Good accomodation and food. And more peaceful and beautiful than Bakkhali.
Booking can be done at Bikash Bhavan, Karunamoyee.

Tajpur trip report

We have visited the Tajpur Nature Resort last week end. Frankly speaking we enjoyed a lot. In fact all of our members were too happy on this trip. No complaint at all from there side. We took 250/- food package. The quality of food and other thing were good. In the open space they organized table chair at night. The dinner we took at 1230 at night. They served it without complaint.

Though (manager) Somnath was not there due to his father's ailment, Indra took care of us. Even after dinner they took the pain to put mosquito net for us.

Road to reach Tajpur Nature camp is yet to construct properly. Lots of hotel are developing on that region. This way the loneliness and calmness may be in jeopardy in coming days. I will give 8 out of 10 to Tajpur Nature resort. As per them electricity will come post Durga Puja. They have few AC rooms which are not functioning due to some Generator problem. We were provided generator supply for almost 18 hours.Name: tajpur 1.jpg

Piyali Island
It is worth a visit to go there. It is just 70 kms from Kolkata and can be accessed by road. It is great for the forest lovers and birb wathchers. You can have a feel of the Sunderban Mangrove forest in one side with Matla and Sweet water river Piyali on one side. The log gate divides the two. Though accommodations are not that luxury, still it is worth a weekend visit

Thats great Somnath. Its nice to hear that you all were served right. When we went the onsite manager was not Indra... someone else... I forgot the name.
I am happy to hear you all enjoyed. As I had said before, Tajpur as a place is very nice, but for me Tajpur Nature Camp will always be a No GO

Smile Tajpur Experience....

Hi friends,
Yesterday, i just returned from Tajpur.
I did not stay at Tajpur nature camp. I stayed at Swapnapuri Resort.
My experience was really too good.
The Manager "Piku"(as we called him by his nickname) is a young man with pleasing personality.
He along with his staff members were really professional and always looked after the need of the guests. We did not get any chance to complain.
They had two gen sets continuously running in rotation.
And above all the cook of this resort is a masterpiece. They cooked fish for us which we brought from Digha. They always had a smiling face.

But one thing I must say...I have seen a number of resorts are under construction. So, in recent days we can expect another Mondarmoni....:r anting:

I have been to Tajpur last Jan...I stayed at Tajpur Nature camp.....

My experience with nature camp was great. From food to service it is great..... Even I have suggested few of my colleagues and their experience is also great....

About the place it has already become next to Mandarmoni....as few my friends told me the beach is now full of broken wine bottles..... Also a lots of construction was going on....

The main attraction was the red-crabs which has already become less.

The road condition of Tajpur is still bad...
It should be restored and I just saw that the electric poles are being erected, the local sources informed us that supply may reach by Nov-Dec.
