This December I'm going to Dooars with my family and will be staying at these two places -:
1. The Green Castle, Hatihana (http://www.gorumara.com/photogallery.php) &
2. Green Lagoon Resort - Lataguri (http://greenlagoonresort.com/),
as I did not get any booking at any of the wbfdc GH at any place. Can anybody provide me any information about these 2 places (positive & negative). My bookings are already confirmed and I'm staying 2 Nights at each place.
1. How are these two Resort's ? (both fooding and lodging)
2. How long is it from Bagdogra?
3. How long does it take from Hatihana to Lataguri ?
4. What are the places that I can visit from there ?

Please let us know your feedback.

Hathihana - is a good resort with star facilities.
Green Lagoon - No Idea.

Bagdogra - Lataguri is about two and half to three
hours , subject to present road conditions.

Hathihana is in Lataguri Itself.

Places to Visit - Gorumara Forest watchtowers , Kalamati ,
Bindu , Jhalong , Jaldhaka , Samsing , suntaleykhola etc.

Cheers
Rainbow Warrior.

I am also thinking of booking the Green Castle. I am not so worried about the star facilities but we are looking for somewhere really close to the wildlife! Can someone please give me some feedback about the location of this place? Thanks.

Hi - Forest Inn have a website which is quite informative. Can you tell me, Chief (or anyone), what it is that you like about the location? We won't have a car and I am looking for somewhere with walking trails close by. I also have a bit of a fantasy about sitting on a hotel balcony watching elephants or rhinos or deer or anything really.

Thanks.

Just back from my Dooars tour.
The Green Castle, Hatihana is quite good. The rooms are spacious and it has all the facilities like LCD TV, Mini Fridge, Room Heater, hot & cold water supply, intercom. The room service is good and the food was also good. Location wise - its just beside the national highway.

Pictures:

The Green Lagoon, Lataguri
Here the rooms are small and not anywhere near to that of Green Castle. In the night you will feel very cold as the doors and windows are not properly built and wind always flows through the gap.
Box TV and Geyser is present. the room service and food is average.
Location wise - its 1.5 km away from locality and close to forest.

Just back from Green Castle last week. Their cottages are not very good though. It's small, creeky, cold and their wooden panel had lot of gaps for insects to crawl in. Food and room service were just ok. I had initially booked it for three days but left after staying just two nights. I had to pay 25% penalty as well for checking out a day early.

Thanks for all that. Is it easy to get into the national park from Green Castle? Is it walking distance? And is it noisy, being on the National Highway?
I am still interested in the Forest Inn, but the guy who owns it has started emailing me details of a dating website (I dont know if he meant to do this or if it is a mistake) which has put me off going there!!!

I'm sorry to sound so stupid, but is it easy to walk into the forest and get to the watchtowers etc from the Green Castle?
