-Digha?
-Too crowded!
-Mandarmani?
-Come on!It is crowded too!
-Tajpur?
-Hmmmm...we have not tried it yet.
Ahhh, why is it so difficult for her to say an yes?Why do I have to read between the lines or decipher certain facial expressions always?
I found myself helpless between a certain conversation with my better half regarding where to take our new car for the first time for a weekend trip.
So,Tajpur was it.While the excitement took my mind towards a different direction I could not help but put a imaginary tap at my shoulder for keeping the discussion so small.

After we have bought our new car this Bengali New Year, a weekend trip was always on cards. Some colleagues of mine recommended a resort at Tajpur named as Mallika resort. While inquiring about various things about the place and the resort my colleagues stop me from the same and assured me to just visit the place.Seemingly surprised we started the journey on Friday, the 12th...of May 2017.

Day1:
We planned to start off early. But when you have got a kid who is hardly one year old, you are bound to get late. There are so many things you have to pack just to make sure the Oldest one does not have any problem in the trip.
Eventually we start off at 7:30 A.M. and took the Belgharia expressway. Contrary to our assumption we found the highway having less traffic. At around 9:30 we stopped at Kolaghat.Had our breakfast with Dhosa,Chana-batura and tea.Meanwhile the manager from the resort has called us to check what are going to have in lunch.
Just before Digha we took a left turn and moved towards Tajpur. The road was not in the best conditions, but it could not dampen our spirit. This was the first time we were visiting the place so all of the eyes were searching for any clues about 'Mallicka resort'. The search did not last long. Found a signboard boldly announcing the entrance of the resort. The gate man inquired if we have prior reservation and opened the gate for us with a broaden smile.
We instantly knew we were in the best place as we discovered the beautiful graffitis in the wall of the gateman's cottage. The entrance itself was amazin with tall trees by the side of the road. A few meter down the road, the gaze broadened as we have found the property to be a huge one. And it had a large pond, beautifully maintained gardens, more than 200 Mango trees, many other trees, well decorated cottages and lush greenery as far as the vision can go.
The resort has 4 kinds of rooms. Each of these rooms have two types of accomodation: AC and Non-A/C.Those who are looking for the tariffs, here it is.Both the AC and Non-AC options mentioned respectively:
Super Deluxe:2700/2000
Deluxe:2400/1800
Classic Cottage:2200/1600
Cottage standard:2000/1400
Extra person:20% of room rent
Driver accommodation:300

Hi,

I am not sure about the others, still whenever I am going to Tajpur I am certainly staying in this resort. If you are seeking for luxury, you might not like it.It has got a 'desher bari' kind of feeling. I guess that is the USP there. They have got a large pond.More than 200+ mango trees if I am not wrong. You will find a touch of Tagore here and there. They have named the cottages, the pond with the creations of the great poet. The children will like it to their hearts' contents as you have got swings in the garden, trees, swans, rabbits, gui nea pigs, chinese hen, turkeys, pigeons and what not.You will not miss your AC bed rooms while lying by the pool. The cool breeze will make you forget all of your worries. The staffs are very courteous. The foods are awesome!

Staying comfort:9/10
Cleanliness:10/10
Service:9/10
Food:9/10

You can call directly at this number for booking:09433075464/ 09836667900/ 033-2432-0676

Your review of "Mallika Resort" has inspired me to go there. I am planning to go there already. Is Tajpur sea safe for bathing.? How far is the sea from the resort? where should I get down if I go by bus? What are the option to go from Digha railway station?

Hello Illuminated,

You do not have to worry anything. It is that kind of resort where you will find yourself among nature and will experience all the warmth from the staff there.

Q. Is Tajpur sea safe for bathing.?:
A. Absolutely. Not only it is safe, it is also quite serene.Unlike the ones you find in Digha or Mandarmani. An ideal one if you are travelling with family.

Q.How far is the sea from the resort?
A. Just a little bit away I guess. The property in which the resort is situated itself is a large one.If you are going from Kolkata, then the resort comes at your left. The beach is at the right. You would have to go under the canopy of tall trees to reach the beach. If I am not wrong it is like a 8-10 minutes walk from the resort.

Q.Where should I get down if I go by bus?
A. You would have to get down at Balisai which comes after Chaulkhola(where the diversion goes to Mandarmani).Ask for a pick up car from the resort itself.

Q.What are the option to go from Digha railway station?
A. You would get plenty of private cars from Digha.I am not quite sure how much they ask for the same though.
