DAY 1 - 23.01.2016

A hero was born with a dream of free India. With a salute to our true Hero Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose we started of our journey towards Baranti.

A group member of 25 people who have only met through social media facebook agreed for the journey. So i was too much enthusiastic and was thrilled for this.

With a poster on my Trolley and a note containing a list of people with their tickets number ,i waited for each one of the them.

Slowly my note ticked beside each name except for two who i was not expecting as they have already informed us about their issues. The only stressed out thing was a unreserved waiting list ticket of my sister.

I was very tensed if any issue raised by the Ticket Checker and resulting a well planned tour to numbness. D1 & D2 coach was filled with people from our group only a seat was left which my sister occupied.

I would like to mention when the checker came ,he was more happy to know that few people who couldn't make it and their seat numbers. He neither checked our tickets or the person or any other documents rather took my note containing all the name of group members and asked me to enjoy my journey and he would do the rest.

Isn't that Great .

Next our coach was more entertaining for a group of people who brought the boom box and the whole coach was dancing to the tune of party mixes they were playing.Specially the kids who was jumping and showing their gymnastic abilities through the narrow passage. So hell ya we enjoyed a lot.

Our train reached Asansol within time and our leader Kishore da was waiting for our arrival with the prebooked Tata winger and his personal car.We all were delighted to have him and he delighted us more with the lovely breakfast he prepared. Egg less Cake,Chicken Sandwich,One egg,Banana, sweet and mineral water.

We took the following road from Asansol to Baranti(1hr+ Drive).

Asansol - BNR More (Old GT Road) towards Disergarh/Niyamatpur- take Disergarh Puruliya Road- up to Sarbari more- left turn- towards Madhukunda- then Baranti/Muradi

After Madhukunda Station the Roads were pretty much bumpy .

There were two resorts which had booked previously Akashmoni and Monpolash. After reaching our cottage ,we rested a bit and the lunch was served.Warm Rice, beguni, musur dal with matar & fulkopi, machh, chatni, papor and aalu posto.(All bengali dishes term used-recipes available on youtube)

One thing i would like to mention its the ambiance and peace which we are unable to find in city will calm your heart and mind.
After having lunch we left for Biharinath Hill ,the talllest hill of bankura district.

The way towards hill has dense forests with abundant flora and fauna and on top a renowned Lord Shiva temple.I wondered why there were NO MONKEYS.I miss you guys.

We left the place in a hurry as it was getting dark and its not recommended to travel after the sun goes down due to the road conditions.

We came back to our cottages and it was getting very cold till the time camp fire was lit up and later it was added with a barbecue station and hot water on the top.We invented the following device .Campfire plus barbecue and hot water.Three in one.So please contact us for the following device.

The dinner was provided with the same menu of lunch plus an add on of delicious Boiler or desi mutton curry. The taste was superb.

Nice start. But unfortunately, the given link to the attachments are not working. I'm curious to know how 25 people, hitherto unknown to each other, and who have only met through social media Facebook, organize themselves to form a Group and set out to a trip. Can you please brief us as to what mechanism has been adopted to achieve this feat? Thanks.

Thanks. Yes, now we can see the pics. Is the name of the Group in Facebook (which you had mentioned) "TOUR FOR NATURE"? I find your photo (where the lone suitcase on the Platform is captured) very interesting!

This was my trolley with the poster around D2 Coach, so that other people can identify me and inform me about the arrival and we can all travel together after a brief intro.

Using Trolley Suitcase for identification purpose is indeed very innovative idea.

Did little bit of research meanwhile and got hold of the Group in Facebook. I'm quite impressed with the activities. Friends request sent. I'm very much interested in Simultala proposed trip.

DAY 2 - 24.01.2016 - Part 1

Good morning Baranti. It was an early morning(08.00 am) sightseeing which we planned to leave but unfortunately it didn't happen as we were unable to cope up with the freezing weather and other bathing and cleaning issues raised with the dropping temperature.

Hot water was ready from the same machine we invented and we all joined in for breakfast and left with belly full of Luchi, cholar torkari and misti.

Morning Baranti Dam was clear and blissful. We stopped the car in the middle of the road and started taking pictures and decided to give dis place a shot at the full moon night which was today.

Up and down round and round we moved towards our next destination and hoping when will our beloved government would do something for this lovely area.No proper light, road conditions not at its best and neither the hospital(I saw only one with hardly few people) and neither not much of schools.Only poverty in natures lap i could see around. Its very sad .Anyways we headed towards Garpanchokut. On the way twice we got few local kids who forced us to donate money in the name god, which we agreed to give seeing their conditions and around.

Garpanchokut is near to Panchet Lake which is a forest area with a rich history of Maratha.Panchet Hill seemed to very high and It has thick forest. There were few ruins of a fort of the Rajas of Panchakot .Few good lodges was available too.I felt like someday i would plan a trek to Garpanchokut ,i wonder how does it feels to be on the top.I miss again my fellow brothers.MONKEYS

Our next destination was Panchet Dam,we halted their a bit but security personnel on the bridge suggested us to leave and we left.Point to be noted there was a beautiful park below(Picnic spot maybe and loud music can be heard). So anyone interested for Picnic can please go there. At the end of Panchet dam,we moved towards a location as suggested by one of our friends and

THIS IS THE BEST PART OF MY TRIP a SNAKE PARK.

I am fan of discovery and national geography channel.I have always wondered how it feels to touch something which i'm afraid of and today was my lucky day. This part of the tour was not planned previously. My pictures would explain everything. My warm regards goes out to Sushmita Di and Mubaraka Da for providing us such a lifetime experience. My sister was the only person who didn't touch the snake. After coming out from snake park(Rs.20 Entry Fee) ,we do realize what is the importance of snakes in our food chain.Thank you snake savior Mubarak

We moved towards the maithon not much on the knowledge of roads we relied on GPS which worked flawlessly and we reached maithon after a blockade on the road for money but not by kids but by a camel and then an elephant.

Maithon looked like more of commercial place with lots and lots of shops and there was no place for parking .We crossed over and parked near Sobujbon and on the way quenched our thirst with fresh sugarcane juice. It was a downhill road towards the river where two types of safari was available one the hand pulled boat and the other speed boats. So 8 of us agreed for the boat ride costing Rs.300 for 30mins.

Next thing we almost felt our heart out when i myself 85kg monster didnt know where to sit and neither the boatman informed me how am i suppose to balance the boat. The boat was almost going upside down and please note the water is deep and life jacket was not provided.I could have died guys and my ghost wouldn't have logged into Indiamike and share this with you.Everything was perfect ,till the time i started feeling dizzy due to the movement of water ,i felt pukish.

Next destination was Kalyaneswari Mandir a 500 year old temple. This temple has a history of human sacrifices.Lots of shops was available on both sides of the lane.

We left for our base Baranti just the sun was about to go down.

To be continued .
