Hi, I have holidays from 1st to 5th October 2014 and I want to volunteer somewhere near to Delhi. Most of the opportunities that I come across charge exhoribitantly to volunteer. Could any one provide leads ? Would be happy if someone can give me names of relevant organizations. Thanks. Dharmik

You may want to add a bit about yourself, your skills or your interest in areas you would like to Volunteer. Hopefully, this might get you a better response.

Thanks Ashok !! I am a geneticist by training and a global development consultant. I travel extensively across rural India and advise corporations on opportunities in healthcare, sustainability and clean technology, innovations etc. I am pretty good at writing and thinking (i can develop marketing plans for organizations). Ya. Pretty much about me. Looking for volunteering opportunities where I can connect with nature or probably even with indegenous communities and aid them. Thanks.

Here are some ideas..
Look up www.workaway.info
You can browse the host list to see options available. To connect, you need to enrol and pay a nominal fee.

or

just chill out at a farmstead - I gather this was founded by a tech guy from Bangalore, who left the rat race to find a meaningful life in the bliss of Nature.
