Hey again,

I've got some good books from the landmark store here in Mumbai...however, its for kids who already does speak a bit of English. Does anyone have any tips of where to find online printouts of the very basic grammar, vocabulary and so on? I've searched the net quite a bit but no luck so far. I'll make my own worksheets but would be great to find some online sources as well
Love, Anna

Look for the english grammar, rapid readers, vocabs books meant to teach english to the marathi medium students. You have to look at local school/text bookstores. You wont find them in a posh shop like landmark.

Sweeney - are you really in Brisbane? (as opposed to Brisbae)

If so - I'd encourage you to do a TESOL course - the Certificate IV through TAFE or another provider.

As for volunteering - for a price you can volunteer through these people - http://www.volunteerhq.org/volunteer-in-india.html and whilst they don't ask for qualifications for teaching English, there is a lot to be said for the TESOL qualification.

Other options to look at:

Hi DrRudi and thank you very much

Yes I am in Brisbane and I have already attended my TESOL info session with Teach International and most certainly would be qualified by the time I am India

Hi Sweeney - okay, good start.

Just be aware that even for volunteering, you will need to apply for an employment visa to India, not a tourist visa. There may be some benefits to going through formal channels such as Projects Abroad and IVHQ.

It's a great thing you're doing - good luck.
