Day 1 - Nainital. Overnight there.
Day 2 - Leave for Mukteshwar. Stay overnight there.
Day 3 & 4 - Leave for Kausani. You can visit Jageshwar on the way to Kausani. Baijnath and Tea Garden are must places around Kausani.
Day 5 - From Kausani to either Ranikhet or Satal. I would suggest go to Satal. Ranikhet is a hyped place.

You are left with one day. You can try to visit Naukuchiytal in that one day or extend a day at Nainital. A cab is the only way to make this itinerary possible. A samll cab (like an Alto) will cost you around Rs 1000 per day and A big one, like Tavera, around Rs 1600. Fuel will be as per actuals and you will also have to afford the driver's food. Book the hotels and cabs in ADVANCE, before your reach Kathgodam. You can not get book a Forest Rest House but you may try KMVN hotels which have excellent locations and priced well.

Hi Sir!
Thanks for the prompt reply. The point is that I can get Forest guest(courtesy my brother ) houses at Kilbury & Vinayak (near Nainital) and Ranikhet and jageshwar, and any other places if available!
Now I would like to know whether it is advisable to stay in the forest guest houses which are at some distance from the main city or hotels in the city. I will not be having my own conveyence.
Also in addition the the places ive mentioned can you suggest any more nearby places

Jageshwar and Ranikhet do not need one day each. My suggestion

Day 3: Go to Chaukri via Jageshwar. Nightstay at Chaukri.
Day 4: Assuming that you have a booked cab, leave Chaukri by 10. You will reach Binsar by 1PM which is enroute Ranikhet. You can see the sunset point and the top. From there Ranikhet is 2 hours or so.

There is nothing that beats FRH, so use that facility. Keep day 2 for Binsar.
If you find my posts confrontationist, please bear, I am an old frustrated guy who has nothing better to do than sit on rocking chair and curse the world whole day

But the problem is FRH far away from city so should I keep taxi for all 6 days? How much they charge for taxi. Also how can I include Binsar in such a tight schedule?

Kumayun trip : Corbett Park, Mukteshwar,Munshiyri,Kausani,N ainital

Hello everyone, I have completed my 10days trip to Uttarakhand Kumayun on 25th dec 2017 and it was just awesome. Thanks to Indiamike for guiding me and to get in touch with Mr.Anand Goswami with whose help, our trip was a grand success.

It was a 10days trip, starting from Corbett National Park safari. We boarded Duranto Exp from Hyderabad and reached Delhi at 10am the next day. Then again boarded Sampark Exp from Delhi and reached Ramnagar at 9pm. We had booked the KMVN hotel at Ramnagar and overnight stay. The next morning very early morning we boarded the Canter for Jim Corbett Park safari, the booking of which was done previously. It was a lovely dreamy journey, full of adventure. Then after completing this, we came back to our hotel KMVN. There, a Scorpio was waiting for us which belonged to Mr.Anand Goswami. The condition of the vehicle was awesome and the driver, Khem Ji was very friendly and helpfull. For the next 8days, this scorpio was with us.

Our plan in a brief :-
Day 1 : Jim Corbett Park safari
Day 2 : start for Mukteshwar from Corbett (Ramnagar). Overnight stay
Day 3 : Sight seeing at Mukteshwar, overnight stay
Day 4 : start for Munshiyri from Mukteshwar via Almora and chaukori. Overnight stay
Day 5 : Sight seeing at Munshiyri, overnight stay
Day 6 : start for Kausani, enjoy the sunset at Kausani, overnight stay
Day 7 : sunrise, local sightseeing at Kausani, start for Nainital, overnight stay
Day 8, 9 : local Sight seeing 1day and Taals 1 day
Day 10 : start for Delhi

This plan was given to us by Mr.Anand Goswami. All the hotels excepting Nainital was booked by him. The driver, Khem Ji was so friendly that he became like our family member. He helped us a lotttt and told us so many unknown stories and history of the places. We did not feel for a moment that he was our driver.....

In Mukteshwar, we met Mr.Goswami in his Hotel, Pathik Resort. His behaviour is very gentle and helpful. We got the delux duplex room. Food is also very homely. View of Himalaya Panchachuli is just awesome from this hotelís entrance. Local Sight seeing with the help of a tour guide was nice. Mukteshwar temple, a very old Shiv temple. Drinking fresh chill Malta juice was soooo very refreshing. Spending a quality time and relaxing in Jim Corbett bunglow was too much....

In Munshiyri, we stayed in Hotel Bilju Inn, which was also quite nice. The staffs are very cordial and well behaved. We got snow in Munshiyri and this made our trip all the more enjoyable. Khem Ji helped us a lottt and guided us and took us to the snow clad areas and we enjoyed a lotttt.

We tasted traditional Kumayuni dishes and we all loved it. Singori (khoya wrapped in oak leaves) and Bal sweets are a must try in Almora. In kumayuni dishes : Bhang ka chutney, Madwe ki roti, gahat dal are a must try. Fresh fish are a must try in Thal. Thanks to Khem Ji for guiding us and helping to taste these.

On our way from Munshiyri to Kausani, we visited Baijnath temple, a 900 century temple, declared as world heritage. A beautiful piece of art. We enjoyed the sunset and sunrise in Kausani from Gandhi Ashram and njoyd the bonfire which locals there had set up. It was an awesome experience. We bought few local items from the shawl factory there.

In Nainital, somehow the wild natural beauty of Mukteshwar and munshiyri was missing. Though it had its own charm of the lake and the mall. We njoyd the chill evening in Tibetan market with piping hot momos.....yummmmmmm....thanks a lottt to Khem Ji again. Next day we went for horse riding and saw the different view points, did boating in the Afternoon. Then roaming around the mall. Next day was a tour of the Taals....beautiful Naukachiyatal and Bhimtal. Another experience of boating.

Our total trip was a grand success because of Mr.Anand Goswami (+919568274128/ +9189544589079) and his driver Khem Ji. They made our trip very smooth. The hotels were fine.

Mukteshwar: Pathak Resort
Munshiyri: Hotel Bilju Inn
Kausani : Himalaya Mount View
Nainital : Prasanth Hotel ( no stairs, on the mall, besides lake, parking available)

I loved Kumayun and want my friends to visit there. If you are in touch with Mr.Anand Goswami and Khem Ji, your trip will be all the more enjoyable.
