All,
We are planning for a Nainital trip during February next year and on our way we plan to visit Jim Corbett.
We will not be able to stay inside the forest as we are travelling with one year old. Can anyone please help us by suggesting some accommodation which is close to Birjani gate as I have heard that the total safari time [3 or 3.5 hrs ] includes travel from our accommodation to the entry gate as well as travel back to the hotel. So I would like to minimize this time so that we get to spend more time inside the forest.

Thanks!

You can spend the entire time allotted for Safari (say 3.5 hrs to 4 hrs ) within the park area. It doesn't include time required to reach the entry gate from your hotel outside the park (or going back to your hotel after you exit the park).

Amdanda gate , entrance to Bijrani zone is only a couple of kms away from Ramnagar . It takes only 5/10 minutes to reach the gate from Ramnagar. You can stay at any hotel at Ramnagar & make day trips to Bijrani. Sorry, I've never stayed at any hotel in Ramnagar. But IM-ers have stayed and posted good reviews on Motel Corbett Resort. Also you may have a look at KMVN Ramnagar adjacent to the forest office at Ramnagar. For day-trips you need not to book the Gypsy in advance. Gypsies are easily available at Ramnagar. You hotel / resort can arrange one for your trip. In fact if you stay at KMVN Ramnagar, you would find lots of Gypsies parked in front of the forest office

We are planning to hire a taxi from Delhi airport for our entire journey.
Does any one know what might be the inter state tax ?
Also, does anyone have any idea what might be the total expenses on Uttarakhand toll and parking charges ?

Thanks,
Akshatha
