Hello everyone,
I have 15-16 days in hand from Kolkata to Kolkata. Want to go Uttarakhand. Already have done some places there like Deoriatal, Tungnath, Chandrashila, Badrinath , Basudhara, Mana, Kedarnath, VOF, etc. Please suggest me a travel plan which covers both Garhwal and Kumaon. You may include 1 or 2 short treks as well. I will be travelling in October, solo by public transport. Start point may be Haridwar / Dehradun / Lalkuan / Haldwani.
Verymuch interested to include Kartikswami, Gorson Bugiyal, Munsiyari in the plan.
TIA

As per your preference,
1 night in train
+2 days to reach Munsiyari
+2 days to Joshimath
+1 days to Katrick swami
+1days to Haridwar
+ 2 nights in train to reach Kolkata
So 9 nights in journey + 2 nights for Munsiyari+1 days for Gorson bugyal. Only 3 days for other places. It's better to choose either Grahwal or Kumaon.

I believe you should come-up with your basic itinerary and then follow members will help you to refine that plan. Otherwise you will never get any response as everyone has a different mind-set and approaches. Someone like comfort and ready to compromise on places. However, others may be interested in covering more places and ready to compromise on their comfort. So you just identify a starting point and can take google map help while deciding the overall plan.

Actually I have done it till Day 10th but couldn't complete it.
My Itinerary was like
D1-Kolkata
D2- Haridwar
D3- Sangam Chatti
D4- Dayara Bugiyal
D5- Dodital
D-6 Harsil
D-7 Kanakchauri via Rudraprayag
D-8 Joshimath via Kartikswami
D-9 Gorson Bugiyal
D-10 Gwaldam via Joshimath
Now I have 4-5 more days and want to cover some places of Kumaon.

Help needed for Kedardham

Hi All,

We are planning to go to Kedarnath mid-October. Could any of you please share the details below?

1) We'd go to Kedarnath from Tunganath. Do we need to stay at Gaurikund? or can we start Kedarnath trek on the same day?
2) If we can start on same day, may be we can cover the total distance in two days (staying in either Jungle Chatti/Bheembali/Linchauli... which one would be better option?)
3) If we do not need to saty at Gaurikund, is there any option of keeping/storing our extra luggage at Gaurikund & collect those on the way back?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Saptarshi
