Its your honeymoon, still driving too much. With 5 days i hand, I would suggest Nainital-2 Days, Binsar-2 Days and last day at Muktesshwar. Visit Almora temples from Binsar if you like and Jageshwar.

I agree with Mr. Sriprakash NSAC. Its ur honeymoon dear....why travel so much.....save it for another occasion. Regarding Binsar u cn stay at KMVN. It's wonderful out thr with good facilities and panaromic view. If u hv never been to Nainital before thn I wud rcmnd u stay at Nainital for a day/night( as it wud be a little hot in Nainital by the time June hits). Thn take a halt at Binsar and Chaukori for two days and visit the surrounding areas. Since u'll start frm Ntal u hv multiple options to include Bagheshwar nd Jageshwar along with Kausani into ur Itrny.

Cheers!

u can also stay at Kalika on the way to Almora from Ranikhet( if u choose to do so). It has got a temple and is situated in very salubrious environment. Windsor lodge wud b a gr8 option thr to stay. It's around 5-6 km frm main market of Ranikhet. The place is away frm normal hustle-bustle of Ranikhet.

I also agree with fellow members, reduce your travel time and have some time alone, its your honeymoon buddy

Thanks guys for the info.. one more request... i have no idea of Uttaranchal as such and hence the travel time estimated is only from the reviews i have read. Our basic intention of travelling to Uttanranchal is to view the beautiful Himalayas. Can anyone suggest an itenary from Delhi as we will be travelling from Mumbai to Delhi by flight..We have only 5-6 days in hand but i want to make the most of it without making it hectic. Could you guys suggest the best not-to-be missed scenic places? Also KVMN has no electricity so i was hesitating to stay there. Is binsar retreat or Kalamati Sangam a good place as far as food and Himalayan view is concerned?Could you guys suggest a gud place to stay in Nainital?

I am banking on this forum totally to get the most of this Uttaranchal trip... i see there are many nature lovers here so a better place to seek advice than the tours and travel agents . Please suggest..

I will say 2 days in Nainital, 2 days in Binsar and 2 in Munsiyari.

If you can afford around 5K a day, Classic Hotel in Nainital is a very nice option with lake view from the balcony.

Binsar Retreat is located inside the sanctuary unlike Kalmatia. There is no electricity in Binsar Retreat as well but you will not find the need of it. They use lanterns in the night and have a small light run by solar energy. They light your room with the help of woods inside the room in the metal fireplace(talking about winters). Service and food are awesome at Binsar Retreat.

Munsiyari will have to be the KVMN.

thankx everyone for appreciating the photographs.
NSAK: As everyone has pointed out, its oyur honeymoon and so enjoy it at a slow pace and dont rush into driving places. Munsiyari might be a hectic proposition as comnig back from munsiyari to Nainital would be too hectic for a single day.

About resorts: Kalmatia is good on facilities TRH Binsar is inside the sanctuary so more into the wild and commands good views depending on cloud cover. Locals say that summer months are not the best for viewing Himalayas but then who cares, you are on your honeymoon....

TRH Chaukori is better in terms of secluded Cottages (take cottage instead of rooms), good views, good veg food.. There was one deluxe resort coming up just next to TRH Chaukori. So you can go and see for yourself.

A sample itinerary would look like this
5th June - Delhi.
- Take Ranikhet Exp to Kathgodam
6th June - Reach Kathgodam at 6:45 am
- Travel to Binsar (3 hrs by cab)
- Sight seeing at Binsar at night stay at ( Kalmatia Sangam / Binsar retreat)

7th June - Visit zero point and leave for Chaukori 4 hours drive. Night stay at TRH Chaukori

8th June - Visit a nearby place called Than/ Thal dont exactly remeber the place. Its on the route to Munsiyari.. You can go upto the river and enjoy sitting along tghe banks. Carry some food. Night stay at Chaukori. Chaukori has electricity.

9th June - Leave for Kausani or Mukteshwar (3-4 hrs)
Krishna mount view has the best view right from the balcony of the room.

10th June -leave for Nainital . Sight seeing and night stay at Nainital.

11 th June - Leave for pantanagar and take a flight back to Mumbai

Hotel Alka and Mannu Maharani r the best places to stay in Nainital as they r quite close to lake Naini lake and provide a fantastic view of the lake ( though MM isn't close to the lake but still it's a gr8 place to stay). As I hv already said during June temp is usually on the other side of the comfort level in Nainital( though it isn't hot actually), so better move to Binsar. It's quite and serenic.Munsiyari definitely wudn't be a good option for a five day trip.

Cheers!
