Hi
I was there in Darma valley in May 2018.
Some updates:

Now jeeps are going up to Tidang village via Duktu and Dantu villages.
The road is unpaved ( kutcha) beyond Dhar.
SUVs, motor bikes, MTB bicycles are also seen on this newly built road.

A seat in shared jeep from Dharchula to Tidang costs Rs.450 and takes about 4 hours with half an hour stop over at Urthing for tea/snacks break.

Home stays are coming up in Dantu village, from where the views of Panchachuli peaks are the best.

Panchchuli base camp is about 3 kms trek from Dantu/Duktu villages.

An article on Darma valley from The Hindu is here:
https://www.thehindu.com/life-and-st...le24348991.ece

As you can see there are lots of changes happening there.
Good luck!

Hi
Sorry for the late reply.
There are high chances that the valley above Nagling village will be snow bound by the end of December.
ITBP and local ADM. may not give permission to visit at that time.
And there won't be jeeps plying on this route. And no home stays at Dantu either.

But if you are fond of winter snow trekking, you can try your luck.
And be prepared to trek and camp.
PM me if you are still interested.

The route now is
Dharchula to Dugtu/Dantu villages by jeep takes 4 hours max with a tea break at Urthing. (Total distance is 75km)
Then trek to Panchchuli base camp- 3 km one way.

For great views of the Panchachuli peaks and the valley' Dantu village is best. Home stays are available during late May to October. You can visit villages like Bon, Go, Son from Dantu in a day walk.

The last village in the valley- Sipu is about 8 km from Dantu, of which jeep road (4km) exists up to Tidang ITBP camp.
Permits are required to go beyond Tidang village.

Do post your trip report. I'd like to follow that.
Darjeeling, Kuari Pass Winter trek, Tawang-Dirang-Bomdila

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
