Hi Guys

Completed the trek, no hopes for neel taal left. From Gomukh to Tapovan half the route we had to scamper on loose scree & soil. I crossed this patch on the 13th Oct, well there was a group (Namami Gangey) prior to us on 12th Oct who were not allowed to go to either Gomukh or Tapovan.

Attached image for comparison, the top image (unable to recollect the year on the same) is from one of the members of this group & the bottom image is from my trip.

Dont know whether I am comparing the same place.

Cheers

Was told by the guide that the shaft in the center of the bottom pic was the handy work of neel taal bursting open. Its a gully of rockfall & landslides now,but dont fret thats not close enough to the route

Any chance you can provide me w/ contact info of other guides that you'd recommend. It's amazing how unresponsive many tour companies are....almost makes me wonder if some of them are frauds

i went to Gangotri with my family (wife & 9 years daughter) last June'17 with a plan of gaumukh trek, but my wife didn't cope up with the altitude of Gangotri due to which we abandoned our trip. When i arrived in gangotri i met Vijay Rawat who is a guide & undertakes/arranges chardham yatra and various trekking points of UK. Throughout the day i chatted with him about his experiences of various trekking. I am sharing his no. 9634238817 or 9456388597 and refer my Name "Saurav Palit" from GHaziabad, he will give the best deal.
