fellow travellers,
this is newbie guy here, from MH. never really travel outside my city or maharashtra par say.
i don't know how to handle train travels like book tickets in advanced and plan trip, all i know if i book 2ac tickets it would be comfortable for everyone.
now want to take my parents to trip on following destinations feels like huge responsibility. but tour companies quoting as high as 30k per person that is totally outside my budget.
and what about those irctc plan tours? any travel company tours any good?

agra
delhi
mathura
vrundavan
haridwar
rishikesh
deharadun
masoorie
golden temple, amritsar
vagah border
and anything i miss in-between.

also suggest good camera for such trips.

any tips, tricks, common sence, how to plan, where to stay etc?

any help or direction will be great. ty.

Drop Uttarakhand, it is no more tourist friendly. Specially when you have aged parents and kids/children in your group. Anytime there could be transport strike, attacks on tourists and they have learnt stone pelting from J&K.

1. Start from Delhi, Agra=2 days, Mathura-vrindaban=1 day, delhi=2 days.
2. Delhi to Haridwar=1 day/2 days, Rishikesh=1 day, Dehradun-mussorie=2 days. Back to Delhi.
3. Delhi to Amritsar-golden temple-wagah=2 days. Back to Delhi.
Check the train tickets for your dates.
Most of the delhi tourist spots can be covered using delhi metro, that will save your time and energy and money.
