Places around Kanpur and Lucknow

Hello IM,
One of my friends is planning a long-ish visit to his native - Kanpur-Lucknow - in a week. I plan to visit him in the last weekend of July in an attempt at exploring the city of Lucknow. I will most likely have a free day or two and would like to explore places around these cities.
Are there any recommendations anything close to Lucknow-Kanpur? Approximate radius of 200km. We have a car, so travel is not an issue.
One small place I came across was Sankissa Basantapura, but did not find much info online other than it being hard to reach

Added Shravasti near Balrampur.
Some years ago we spend a few days in Jaunpur, it is a nice place.
I think it is a little over 200 km from Lucknow. But the road was not very good, if you have time stay there one night.
