Hi,

May I know is there any bus from the airport direct to Alambagh Station ?
I am going to Gorapkhpur tomorrow morning.
My flight should arrive before 8 am.
Shall I head to railway station to look for a train or to Alambagh station for a bus ?
From the redbus website, I don't see any morning buses. The earliest one is 12.30pm noon.
Anyone know whether there are other buses between 9.00 am to 12.30 pm ?
I read that the bus will take 8 hours, I wonder if I can still get to Kushinagar in the same day.
If there is no bus from airport, how much will the taxi cost from Lucknow airport to Alambagh bus station ? Will they go by meter, prepaid or negotiate ?

Quite worried.

Thank you.

Can I know is going by train much faster ?

I find a few trains from 9.45 am in the morning for tomorrow.
Can someone help to check whether my chance of getting a seat is good if I go tomorrow straight to train station ?

Thank you.

Yes, there is a counter at railway station where you may get reservation for available berths.

You may also check availability of berth by visiting http://www.indianrail.gov.in/inet_curbkg_Enq.html.

I took a auto rickshaw from airport to railway station but the driver dropped me at the Charbargh bus station. I walked to railway station, all the counters are full of people 2 different station staff gave me different direction to different counters, finally telling me it is Junction Station. Again see so many people at it is already 8.45 am, so I gave up and return to bus station to take the 9 am Shabadti Bus for about 470 Rs, arrive Gorakhpur 3.30 pm. A very poor condition bus compared to Thailand buses but the real ordeal is the Gorakhpur bus to Kushinagar.

Shatabdi buses are ordinary buses fitted with AC system in it,you should have opted for Volvo buses as they are quite comfortable with ample leg space

Waiting to hear about your travelogue

Thank you.
There was only one bus at that time and the next bus is one hour later. As I hope to arrive Kushinagar sooner, I take it.
Not too bad actually, except that the man sitting next to me keeps occupying 4 inches space of my seat making me very uncomfortable but luckily he gets down 2 hours before my journey is over.
Kushinagar is such an important place for Buddhism but not promoted, such a pity. If all the Buddhists will to visit just for a day in a lifetime, imagine how much they can benefit.
I am leaving Kushinagar to Gorakhpur for Nepal now :-)
