Hi everyone,
I am going to come to Lucknow to meet my girlfriend after a long time. I would like to stay in a hotel which allows visitors and woudn't cause problems if she visits me there. Please suggest. Also advice some places for us to go in a day, we want the day to be super special. Thanks.

If you can spend money then go for Taj.. or the good old Clarks Awadh. You can check the rates. High end hotels.. and no fuss.

Eons ago, the dining hall (there were no restaurants) of Clarks Awadh had one of the finest of the chefs, and a lazy lunch could easily last 2-3 hours. I'd just go to relive my old memories of the place.

Lucknow is a very nice city, it depends on what you both like to do, Lucknow has a lot of to offer. First choose your hotel and then you see which attractions are close by.
From the historical sights I liked the "Chhota Imambara" (Hussainabad Imambara) very much. The Hussainabad Picture Gallery (haven't been there), would be on the same road and near Clock Tower.
And don't forget to stroll through one of the wonderful gardens and parks in Lucknow.
At evening in some parks they are playing music & fountain-games, I stayed in a smaller park to see it but the famous one is the musical fountain"Gomti Park".
And don't forget to buy a Lucknawi chikan (embrodery) kurta as wonderful souvenir/gift.
Surely there comes a time when counting the cost and paying the price aren't things to think about any more. All that matters is value - the ultimate value of what one does.

I think the dining hall would be unsuitable for what he has in mind.

Mods please reconsider my suggestion for a sticky thread "Where to get laid without any problems .. a city by city guide"
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

The OP has no issues in *choosing* the attractions which are *close by*.

He needs advice on the hotel itself.

Since, OP has not responded back, I am assuming he has found what he wanted. If not, the best way of doing this is to ask the GF to meet you at the bus/train station / airport.. and then take a taxi together to reach the hotel. There, signing in as a couple, with luggage on tow, never creates any issues.
She can always leave after you are settled in.

Going to meet my girlfriend in Lucknow. Need advice.

The whole of India is never an issue. Need to check in together. Also kind of appear familiar and bored ie an Indian Married Couple. Then leave. I find an issue when even a male friend VISITS ( and thus an issue for couples in intentional amore ) Money does not talk: everyone from Gate guard to lobby guard to reception all had knowing glances for my friend as we exitted together

try picadilly too. it is on the kanpur road near nahar chauraha.

one suggestion.......dont go to the hotels near the charbagh railway station or the alambagh bus stand. police is quite frequent in knocking the doors at night.

better to spend some money and book room in atleast 3 star hotel. taj, clarks awadh and picadilly are all 5 star.

another option could be: get to the pan dariba road. any rickshaw puller could take you there from charbagh railway station. there on the road many good hotels are located, i guess, you could find 3 star too. this area is a little far away from the station like 1-1.5 kms.

another option you could try: book an auto, move towards kkc tiraha. from there onwards towards vidhan sabha, lot of good hotels (i guess 3 star atleast) are lined up. locally this road is known as station road. other landmark is "kkc" and "city montessori school station road". all these are landmarks. here you could check-in in hotel golden tulip, hotel deep etc

one more suggestion: book online/phone in advance after some googling for two persons.this way, hotel guys will pose less queries
