Allahabad (and Lucknow) - Hotels between 1500 and 2600 ?
Hi,
We (French couple, 60 and 65 (I speak Hindi)) will spend four days (29 March, checkout 2 April)) in Allabadad. We are looking for a room (second floor or higher, and quiet (if possible)) with a middle range kiraya (between 1500 and 2600 taxes and breakfast included).
We will spend four days in Lucknow too. So we are looking for the same kind of accomodations.
I add I am speaking Hindi cause we love Indian style hotel.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Bitchou,
We visited Lucknow during our last trip.
We reserved a room by phone in hotel Amarpeet, an Indian styled hotel. My wife had a look at t he room, it was small and dark. Besides the room next door weas under reconstruction. And we did not take it.
The rickshaw driver suggested Sky High, a few hundred meters further. This is a new build hotel with a friendly staff. For us, but not for you, was the problem that hardly anyone speaks English.

Thank You Vonkla,
We were thinking to Amarpeet. We will try Sky High.
By now we are in U.R. hotel, Allahabad, room 403 (sky high!). We asked to remove a sofa and a chair and the small room, on terrasse, looks much bigger (~2300 rps).
P.S. I prefer the hotels where nobody speaks English neither French cause I need to improve my Hindi (babut acchi basha hai (= it is a very nice language).

My wife decided to try another hotel, Ganga Maiya, because she read that the rooms were very clean and there was a fridge in it. So our plan was to check in this order Ganga Maiya, Sky High, Amarpreet and... During the time she was checking the rooms in Ganga Maiya I talked (in my poor Hindi) with the rickshaw-wala who told me the Sky High is a very good hotel.
My wife was happy with Ganga Maiya and I am too : very clean, friendly... We prefered to choose quiet room instead of a clear one. For the price (with discount and without breakfast) we have a big room, big toilet and big fridge.
Thanks again Vonkla.
