Coonoor vs Ooty & Feedback on SunValley

My wife & I are planning a 7 night trip to Coonoor & Ooty starting Oct 6th...We plan 3 days in Coonoor and 4 days in Ooty....We will fly from Mumbai to Coimbatore and then rent a car
Please help us with the following....
1/ Plan to stay at least 3 days at SunValley in Coonoor ...Any feedback on this facility
2/ Can we 'commute' daily from Coonoor to Ooty for 4 days Or is it better to move to a Hotel in Ooty after 3 days in Coonoor
3/ Any recommendations for a Very Clean, quiet scenic Hotel or B&B in Ooty
4/ Any recommendations for a Car rental....Reliable, Safe and English or Hindi speaking drivers
5/ How cold will be the weather....We live part of the year in NJ and part in Bombay so used to the cold but need to know what woollens to bring
6/ Is it also worthwhile to visit Kotagiri for a day
7/ Any recommendations for a great, authentic but reasonable priced Ayurveda massage place in Coonoor, Ooty or Kotagiri

I suggest adding a ? to your thread title, so that people can see that you are requesting, rather than offering, information.

I visited the area just once, and it was a few years ago now so my feedback is not much use. I found it cold and wet in July, with Coonor noticably and pleasantly warmer than Ooty (about 1000m lower, I think).

In October, you could be encountering serious monsoon weather, possibly even dangerously serious!

Hoping someone comes to the thread with better advice...
