first time I will be travelling to that area, so I would be thankful if anybody can help me by answering the below Questions,

1.Best option to reach Babeli from Delhi. Is it overnight bus?
2. I m planning train till Kiratpur sahib and from there bus to Babeli. I love to see the the nature closely. Is bus available from Kiratput railway station? How much time it takes from Kiratpur to Babeli ?

Thank you dost.

Hi!
I too am doing the Saurkundi Pass Trek, joining in on 8th May with a 5 member team.

One of the chosen routes to reach Babeli is departure Delhi by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation's Volvo AC bus. It leaves Himachal Bhawan (near Mandi House Metro Station) around 1800 hrs for destination Manali with an arrival time of 0730 hrs the next day. The buses are comfortable with the AC normally working. The bus can be booked online from their website. This is what I will be doing.

The alternate is to catch buses from Chandigarh or Amritsar. I am not very sure about the logistics of this approach though.

It is administered by Youth Hostels Association of India. You can search the string on Google. They charge a lump sum which includes food, tent accommodation etc. and for this trek it is a grand total of Rs. 3601/- for the 11 day programme. Very very cost effective indeed.

For a 11 day trek, it is considered a moderate trek only. However, it is a very difficult question to answer based on the age and physical condition of a participant. This trek has seen age groups of 15 years to 60 years doing it.

The best option for you is to take Volvo (or Tata-deluxe or semi-deluxe) bus from Delhi ISBT (Kashmeri Gate) to Manali (or buy ticket upto Kullu). Babeli is 7 KM after Kullu on way to Manali. Volvo bus starts around 8.30 pm and reaches Kullu around 9.00 AM next morning. There are plenty of local buses from Kullu to Babeli, OR you can buy ticket upto Manali and VOLVO can drop you at Babeli. Bus drops you right at the gate of Babeli base camp.

Vovlo buses are run by HRTC (HP Road Trasport) as well as by HPTDC (HP Tourism Department), and both have their respective web site to book seat online. I shall suggest you prefer buses run by HRTC from ISBT. HPTDC start from Janpath, New Delhi.

Hope this helps.

Its look like the base camp position is changed. Now it is showing 15 miles near span resorts on Delhi - Manali highway on YHAI website. Did anybody has any updates?

You are correct, checked the website. Earlier they were mentioning Babeli base camp, now the description says Bandroll. Babeli was coming up on Google Maps, Bandroll does not. The website for Span Resorts says it is 14 kms before Manali (approaching from Kullu) and their map seems to show that it is between Katrain & Manali. Mapping it, based on available data shows about 4 kms after Katrain.
