It can be done independently easily.there is no way to lose path.you will find ample trekers along with you.carry dry fruits along. You can also rent all the equipment from Lohagunj ,shop is just opposite the bus stop.

You can also stay with shepherds they will charge minimal amount,you would find shepherds hut near pathar nachani but not after that.
These all scenario was on 5 September 2016.
Hope it will help
Thanks a lot Shashank, you cleared the main doubt of stay beyond Bedini.. But as we are 03 persons, we are thinking to hire gears from Lohajung for avoiding any situation of not finding stay at Dhaba at Pathar Nachani/Bhagwabasa..We shall not hire guide as trail is well laid and there will be fellow trekkers too but thinking of hiring a porter to carry slipping bags, tent and mattresses..we want to do all these arrangements after reaching there..can we find a porter easily in Lohajung? and wat shall be his charges? just for an idea to bargain there with the porter as we are tight on Budget...

[QUOTE= Rowe neg Hi

I am back after a break. A group of us are planning to do the Roopkund trek in July end/first week August. A few questions to those who have been there:

1. Can I pick up equipment from Lohajung (tents, sleeping bags, jackets)? Anyone you know who can help over there?

2. Is July end/August a good time to go, or will I be soaking myself in rain all the time?

3. Are there mules/horses on the track and can they be hired to carry load? cost?

Any additional tips would be welcome.

[quote=Rowenegi;2082789]Hello Rowen,
I have done this trek solo this year from 01.10.17 to 04.10.2017. Following is the reply to your concern:-
1. Yes, All equipment can be rented at Lohajung. there are two shops which rents all the trekking essentials.
2. July end/Aug may be harsh as there will be continuous rains up in the himalaya and landslide road blockage will also be a problem to reach there. post monsoon i.e. sept end season shall be best time to go for Roopkund.
3. Yes, Mules regularly ply on the track upto Bhaguwabasa and can be easily rented at Wan/Lohajung.
You can read full trek details at my blog https:// Mohitdhama-jaat.blogspot.in;
