I was very busy in last 20 days, for my father's operation. And my wife delivered BABY GIRL, so no reply.

Now I will create new topic for Desert trek, as this topic is for Kinnaur Kailash Shivling spire trek.

very strange.. post janmastmi, I would expect less chances of rain. monsoon generally begins to retreat around that time....

I shared what I have heard from local people, as they are best source of information regarding local weather.

my itinerary: Kinner kailash

Hi,

I plan accordingly: it will be self driven

--30th Sept: morning , leave for Reckong Peo. night stay beyond shimla, presumably at 1600-1700 mts.
--1st Oct: Reach Peo. guide, equipment, tents : night stay at 2700 mts ish at Kalpa
--2nd Oct: begin trek. stay at first stop : altitude: 3300 mts.
--3rd oct: Stay at next stop: 3800 mts.
--4th Oct: Stay at third stop ( one extra to get used to high altitude ). 4500 mts
--5th Oct: visit the top or near about and back to where ever i can.
--6th October: most likely back to reckong peo.
--7th Oct: back to Delhi..
--8th evening: Delhi..

do you think it's doable or does it appear too rushed? I have seen people doing the same in less time.

let me answer my question myself. Now that I have done this trek ( didn't to to the top though ), October is a nice time to do this trek.

My experience of last 10 years or so of moderate trekking strongly suggests to completel ignore what locals say. They are all ignorant. Try to have scientific approach and common sense. Weather predictions these days are very accurate and with some common sense, and a bit of chance, you will be better off completing ignoring what locals say. I can quote several examples to support my claim.

Love from Bangladesh..I see your travel videos twice or more every week...It refreshes my mind in a great way.Your voice and the way you explain travel things is just awesome.I have become your great fan..We desperately want your more videos of travelling..And also request you to pay a visit to Mount Kailash,Tibet.I greatly both respect and love you.
