Hello!

Me and my friend are planning a multi-day trek around Kodaikanal for three days in december. We have got in contact with a guide who will help organise permission from forest department and provide tents and sleeping bags etc. What is a fair price for such a service? We want to pay what is reasonable and fair but don't want to get ripped off.

Thanks!

Thanks! He has not suggested a price yet. I'll try asking again.

I was thinking along the lines of 10,000 rupees for 3 days trekking with tent and sleeping bags included?

It will be interesting to see what he comes up with, your figure seems fair to me.

We would be going for a trek in 3 months time. Already spoke to a couple of guys - was quoted about 12K to 15K for a 7 day trip including airport pick and drop and food, tent, permit and porter. (basically all inclusive) We are going to a poplar destination where people come almost throughout the year - so I think that could be a reason for reasonably low cost.

We have been quoted 15,000 rupees for three days. Seems fair enough to me tbh. Think we're going to go for it

As long as your happy with that price, seems reasonable to me also.

Where are you headed after Kodaikanal ?
