Bringing in Iyer did not help much. Bhuvaneshwar and Pandya have not been very effective. We have depended too much on Kuldeep and Chahal. The pair needs to understand that there is a limit to runs that they can gift. They must have some run-checking mechanism in their armoury.

It is just one game where both of them failed at the crucial time.

Middle order not working, middle order not working! Where is the middle order?
You have Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli, Rahane, Pandya, Dhoni. An extra batsman will restrict bowling to just five people

Looking at the way the top 3 are batting we can afford not to have a working middle order. With the wristies doing good most probably we would need to defend mostly the runs scored by the top 3.

Thakur had a good beginning in the international cricket, 4 for 52, including Markram and Amla. Chahal got de Villiers and Zondo. Dhoni missed a sharp Kuldeep dismissal, an surprisingly, Chahal did not turn a fielding into a catch. He is an excellent fielder.

Options that we are trying for Batsman/Spinner in Raina, Jadhav, Axar, Jadeja, etc. Other option are Washington Sundar, Hanuma Vihari and good old Karn Sharma or Jalaj Saxena. He had a nice Ranji session but I do not know if he would be yo-yo fit. We have not settled for one.

India on track for a 3-0 sweep in the T20's. However they would not be the top team in T20. Currently Pakistan is at the top.

Even if India win their next T20 championship to be held in Sri Lanka they would be 3rd ranked, since on current form it seems difficult for the Kiwis to defeat the Kangaroos in the final of the tri nation tournament.

Indian eves lose the T20 played earlier in the day on the same pitch. The middle order collapsed, else they were on track for a score in excess of 160.

Still SA were good, especially Hendricks. They managed 175. Perhaps it will be better for us after Kuldeep returns. Poor Guy and poor SA, ABD bows out of T20 due to injury.

We did not botch up the last encounter.

Nidhas tri-series in Sri Lanka with Bangladesh: Rohit Dhawan Rahul Raina Pandey Hooda Karthik Pant Sundar Chahal Axar Vijay Shankar Thakur Unadkat Siraj

Is Axar good enough? Happy about Sundar and Vijay Shankar. Karthik and Pant, Samson misses the boat.

So, on to the Devdhar trophy.

I hope they give Mayank some chance (other than that in IPL - He has been picked up for Rs.1 crore by Kings XI, Punjab. He is worth more than that). He has done extremely well in the recent days.

I am happy that at least someone spoke about Mayank and Jalaj Saxena.

Australia on the verge of a big win against South Africa in the first test. SA need 378 runs to win with 7 wickets in hand (Amla and ABD back in the hut).

After a great fight by Markram, Starc rolls though the tail enders. Well played Markram and ably supported by de Kock and de Bruyn.

Second match performers (Deodhar):
Karnataka: R. Samarth 117 S. Gopal 3 for 29
India B: Tiwari 120 S. Lad 70 S. Kaul 3 for 49
-----------------------------
Karnataka has given a tough challenge to India A - 339. Smarth 85, Deshpande 95.
Rohit leaves for a duck. India 9 for 1.

T20 is not the form to judge the players. Half of them don't even get the chance to play.

For the first time I have no differences on contracts given by BCCI:

A+) Kohli Rohit Dhawan Bhuvaneshwar Bumrah

A) Vijay Pujara Rahane Ashwin Jadeja Dhoni Saha

B) Rahul Kuldeep Chahal Pandya Ishant Umesh Karthik (Shami)

C) Pandey Nair Raina Jayant Jadhav Axar Parthiv

No dead wood (unless we consider Axar to be one, or someone like Yuvraj last time). Iyer and Unadkat could have been included, but then, OK, next year. Though too many wicket keepers and Samson still not there. Pant proved most inadequate in the last match. It clearly showed. Newbie jitters. Of course, he will get more chances.

Perhaps Shami's goose is cooked after reportedly taking money from a Pakistani woman.
Don't know why his wife is bent on destroying Shami and her own family. It is sort of explosion of a volcano.
