Happy about the player who were selected (whatever they might have got). I hope they will succeed and get more in the next IPL. Last year even Hardik Pandya was sold for 20 lacs.

My grouse is for another reason. The total IPL purse was 640 core for 200 players. Even the average was 3.2 crore for each player. Why did IPL keep the base price for Uncapped players and capped player at 20 and 50 lacs? That encourages disparity. The young capable players are cheated.

At the moment the disparity is 85:1. Kohli for 17 crores and and many uncapped players for just 20 lacs. That is unfair.

IMHO, the base price for uncapped players should be 1 crore and 2 crores for capped players. Then let us have the auction or draft, whatever IPL decides next year.

Kedar Jadhav/Ravindra Jadeja/Axar Patel

I do not know why everyone (Selectors, Coach and Captain) is propping up Axar Patel at the expense of Sir Ravindra Jadeja. Axar is a nice player but so is Kedar and Jadeja IMHO, is better than both, definitely the better fielder.

Jadeja is #3 test bowler, #2 test all-rounder. Ashwin is ranked below Jadeja both as bowler and as all-rounder. Axar is #10 ODI bowler.

I think Jadeja should naturally be in team as an all-rounder just like Pandya. Kohli would have had a better option in Jadeja than Kedar in yesterday's match.

Kedar would be the more consistent/suitable batsman in South African conditions, in my view.
Also he has somehow been deceptive in his bowling and getting key break throughs - well atleast on Indian pitches.

The Indian U19 team has won the World Cup by defeating Australia by 8 wickets.

Manoj Kalra scores a 100. Shubam Gill failed to score his 7th consecutive 50+ score when he was bowled by Uppal for 31.

"Prithvi Shah, Manjot Kalra, Shubhm Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti should play for India"
Not so fast, people. They are learning, they will learn. Go through the steps. Find their style. India-A. Then perhaps they will play for India.
Remember, there were Vinod Kambli who never came back and Ashish Nehra who came back every time.

I watched the game on TV, convincing win by the Indian lads. Hopefully some of them can advance to higher honours.

A big win for India at Centurion. Dismissing SA for the lowest score there. Sure, SA is not playing with full strength, but still. The wonder boys proving themselves again and again (I mean Chahal and Kuldeep).

Yeah one of the best U19's in this World Cup and may be overall as a team for India. 3-4 players can play for India and probably either one of Shaw or Gill and either one of Mavi or Nagarkoti would be playing for India in the next year or two.

Manjot too. But it will take time. At the moment even Rahul, Pandey, Nayar and Iyer are waiting. Frying takes time.

I hope with 3 ODIs under their belt, they will do some experimentation. For example:

Dhawan Iyer Kohli Pandey Karthik Bhuvaneshwar Axar Shami Kuldeep Chahal Bumrah
(At the moment major pressure is on Virat, and I do not like it. Everybody should share the responsibility)
(Team without recent non-performers: Rohit, Ajinkya, Hardik, Jadhav and MSD)

I don't think they would be keen on experimenting in the next game or the game after that. Probably once they are 4-0 or 5-0 they would experiment.

The Indian women team are also doing the same team against the South African women. Jhulan becomes the first bowler to reach 200 wickets in ODI.

And India lose the ODI.

Were rather sloppy in the field and Chahal had a off day with the discipline while bowling as well.

Encore in the women's game against South Africa.

In regards to the men's game, I think the rain made it easier for the ball to come on to the bat.
