Born again white Hindu. Is a term I use to describe this duo. Like the born again Christian these two thought that just because they had immersed themselves in the clothes culture and recommended reading that they walked on water and they were far more knowledgeable than any other Indian Hindu. They were derogatory jd arrogant and attention seekers. Again like the Peruvian assumed I was like them, till they found out I wasn't. The embarrassed prayer room staff. Strangers looking on some angry some just like me mortified.Shouting out about rights they didn't have. Could've got really ugly.

please don't try this at home or while being an amateur traveler.

I sometimes pretent that i cannot speak, or cannot speak the local language while traveling, just to amuse myself. the comments i get when they realize this are very insightful. Sometimes i have a really hard time trying to keep a blank face, but i manage.

i think i am being the worst traveler in such cases.

thank you tracy, for providing me the "born again" explanation.

Once I was travelling to Hyderbad with my father in law and wife. In front of us was a husband and wife and kid from Bangalore. They were obvioisly malayali but they were pretending not to be. They were eavesdroping and enjoying it.

I then saw a rat going into their bag, I told my wife in malayalam, you should have seen the guy jump up and shake his bag. I had a good laugh and the guy just glared at me.
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

Just another note on why I hate people traveling with suitcases. It mostly being woman, they always make me feel obligated to help them carry it along beaches, high edges, slim doors of trains etc etc. Even tough it was their own stupid idea to bring one in the first place, I always help

I befriended an Israeli couple who were lost at a train station. Helped them get some sleeper class tickets to Varkala where I was also heading. She was so disgusted by the travelling conditions. She poured half a travel bottle of hand sanatizer on her seat and wiped it down, she sprayed a hankercheif with perfume to put over her face because the smell was vile to her.
She made constant gagging sounds and acted as tho she was going to wretch. She was so loud with her disgust for everyone around her and made loud comments about the poor condition of this womans children (was a blessing this family didnt speak english) tho I'm sure they knew she was a bitch. She was spraying her perfume into the air while she gagged from the smell. She finally decided to go to the washroom and when she opened the door and saw shit in the corner she began screaming at everyone what vile pigs they were ...I was so embarrased. She never understood why none of these things bothered me...I never understood why the hell she went to india.
