I have been reading the current posts here about Holi and I must say that it has me thinking about a few things!! I didn't realize its nature.

Anyways, my question is that we are scheduled to leave Varanassi by train heading to Agra on the evening of the 15th at 17:20. Would anyone envision problems getting around to the train station? Not sure where in the city the station is located and if the streets around the station get overly crowded/blocked, then it could be fun getting to the station. And I am not too keen on carying my bags through groups of party-going men.

The revelry may in all probability end by the time you go to station. Still some people may throw baloons filled with colour or muck. Avoid travelling on an open rickshaw. Stay indoors all day, if you have a balcony or access to roof top watch the scene from there. Bhang is traditionally made & drunk, since you are travelling on that day keep off it.
