But seriously, I have never seen wall-to-wall carpeting in any Indian home...doesn't make sense in the weather, does it?

It's absolutely fatiguing to read this thread, with everyone trying to change Passingby's opinion when it is set in stone. Also she has a right to this opinion, though her repeated coments about Indians being dirty seem a bit over the top.

Our streets and cities could be cleaner but this time when I was in Chennai, I felt there was a definite improvement. I would see the Onyx guys cleaning the streets at all odd hours of the night. So it's a start, and let us hope that more cities are doing the same.

This debate could go on and on. Suffice to say that India is not everyone's cup of tea. Fair enough.
