Every asset belonging to the controversial tycoon has either been attached or is in custody of courts.

So far, Mallya has handed over - nine automobiles, three yachts, seven jewellery pieces, nine watches, two gem stones and an antique suit of armour replete with 12 swords and two shields!

Watches to yachts, Vijay Mallya’s ‘lost’ all

He should have kept the armour if he is indeed going to be residing in Arthur Road. He just might need it.

Arthur Road is on the other side of two three higher Courts. So the preparation while welcome is a bit premature IMO.

I doubt if Mallya would be extradited to India.

He donated a Christmas tree worth £1,500 previous year to the Tewin village community in England where he resides at present. I doubt he will do the same this year.

£1500 for a Christmas tree? Did he get scammed or what?

Arthur Road jail prepares to receive Vijay Mallya

It's been decades... But I seem to remember that real live Christmas trees were always expensive.

My parents stopped buying them when they could no longer get them with roots. Even they usually died, but at least they had a chance.

Vijay Mallya becomes first person to be declared ‘fugitive economic offender’

Special judge MS Azmi declared Mallya an offender under Section 12 of the Act after hearing extensive arguments from the lawyer of Mallya and the ED counsel.

Under the provisions of the Act, a Fugitive Economic Offender is a person against whom an arrest warrant has been issued in respect of a scheduled offence and who has left India so as to avoid criminal prosecution, or being abroad, refuses to return to India to face criminal prosecution. Once the person is declared a fugitive economic offender, the prosecuting agency has the powers to confiscate his properties.
