Hi There,

I've already had a look in the hotel section on IM, but I'm still looking for more advice. I'm struggling to book somewhere in Udaipur as many places are already fully booked

However, I have found Hotel Udai Niwas in Lonely Planet and Lalghat Guest House, does anyone have any recommendations?? We were hoping to stay in mid range for this part of our trip because we wanted it to be special, so don't really fancy 'slumming it'.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Hi Emily!
I stayed at Lal ghat this summer and was really satisfied! Nice people (owners and guests) great view from the rooftop and fantastic service.
If you are travelling mid range I'd rather recommend you mewar inn, it is less central and has no view but you get really big rooms with TV and a nice bathroom for only little price. You won't miss the view as simply every restaurant in Udaipur has a rooftop terrace. Try out the restaurant just next to the entry of lal ghat guest house (sorry I forgot the name). It has really good cuisine.
enjoy your stay!

I'm booked into Kankarwa Haveli on the waterfront very close to the palace. Double waterfront room with attached bathroom - 1650R plus 8%tax. Very helpful people and Janardan Singh gave me quick response to emails.
Email: kankarwahaveli@hotmail.com
One of a number of web sites: www.indianheritagehotels.com and search
Hope this helps.

Wonder View is a lovely, clean place. Ask room with the view. It faces the City Palace.

The Udai Niwas is a great choice; good location, lovely rooms, not too expensive and a wonderful rooftop restaurant with incredible views!

I stayed at Mahendra Prakesh as well. I stayed in a 500Rs room, but they had others for 1000/1200 available at the time.

Its worth booking I think as they sometimes have groups in.
