Well, an oxymoron obviously, but am doing some research on possible 'budget' type hotels which are converted out of havelis/palaces (all across Rajasthan). Am planning to spend the next few months researching and then visit them sometime later this year - and probably collate all the details and release them as an e-book(for free? ).

Also, recommendations for equally good budget hotels would be nice. For eg. i stayed in Sundar Palace in Jaipur a few years back - they charged around 500INR per night and i must say that it was one of the best places - total value for money; great food and equally good hospitality - though it was converted out of a 2/3 storeyed house.

Any help would be great.
