Many thanks in advance for your advice - I have read a couple of threads, but many of them seem to be giving conflicting information on this, so was wondering if someone could help.

I am planning to visit Amritsar and Wagah border at the end of December - does anyone know what time the ceremony finishes in late December (as far as I understand it's different at different time of the year)? What is the earliest time I could make it back to Amrtisar? I am trying to plan a return trip to Delhi on that night, so just wondering what might be the earliest time I could leave.

Many thanks again in advance!

@Aussieru

I went in February - I would guess you're not going to get away from the ceremony much before 5.30pm local time. The ceremony is attended by lots of people, and it's a long and slow walk back to your car. I really can't remember how long it took me to get back to my hotel in Amritsar - something like an hour? And there is no leaving the ceremony early - you'll be allowed to move when the soldiers on duty let you.

Yup, it would finish at around 5:30, so you would be back by 6:30-7 atleast.
