Visit to Amritsar in Dec

Hi,

We are planning to visit Amritsar on our way to Mussourie in Dec. Few things I need help on:

1) Climate in Dec since we have two kids
2) We plan to visit Golden temple, Jalianwala Bagh and the Wagah border. We will taking the Dehradun express at 2215 from Amritsar.
3) Where can we stay? Good hotels nearby. Also what about transport will the hotel arrange one to visit above sites.

Please share your views.

We stayed in hotel Grand, opposite the railway station.
It is a good hotel with a small garden. The have a travel desk.

You could also consider staying in the Golden Temple complex. Jalianwala Bagh is at a walkable distance from the Golden Temple.

Dec. is a good month to visit Amritsar. Dec. can be very cold but not always. The main problem is thick fog, very very thick to limit visibility. This thick fog starts to descend about 5 pm and stays till as late as 10 am next day. You have to work around it.
