Hi guys.
I was just wondering. One of my colleagues at work mentioned this (his) city to me and said it was worth a visit, but didn't really give me any info about it. So, is there anything there? Some nice temples perhaps? I guess if I include Amritsar in my next itinerary, there may be some time spare to see his city.

I didn't see anything remarkable in Jalandhar but I think there are few temples.

Check this link : http://www.tourismguideindia.com/jalandhar.htm

Amritsar got many sites of interest including the Golden temple and the Indo-Pak border where you can see the Indian and pakistani armies 'aggresive' show down against each other.

hi Spud

You could try to visit Harike Pattan wetland. By surface area it's the largest wetland in North India and in the right season (Oct-Feb) attracts significant number of migratory birds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harike_Wetland.

A short distance from Jalandhar is Kapurthala with several palaces and an interesting Moorish mosque. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapurthala

Hi Spud,

It depends how many days you have for Punjab visit. Jalandhar to Amritsar 90 min journey and it is well connected with rail and road. Bus/Rail fare is around 2$. Devi Talab Mandir can be visit there and accommodation available for 5$ per night. If you like to stay in Punjab for few days you can add this city.
Best Regards,

Hey guys
Sorry for the late reply Amritsar visit bit the dust due to a re-juggling of my itinerary. It's probably down for next year though as well as a few other places in Punjab no doubt, Jalandhar too.
