So I'm Melissa. I'm an American married to an Indian. I love him to pieces, and now I'm going to live with him, just him and I, in Pune.
I'm unable to work, but I am hoping to find a way to occupy my time. I'm in my 30's, no kids, we just have 2 dogs. Very much into holistic living, off the grid living and making the most of what we have, including the things, places, people around us.
Are there any classes I could sign up for to study herbs, Reike, holistic medicines? I'm a HUGE gardener too.
This isn't a personal ad, but I am hoping to get some direction into possibilities in making the most of my life in Pune.
Any advice is welcome.

melissakaul, welcome to indiamike. Seems like a long pending dream of yours is coming to fruition, and may i offer my congratulations on achieving the same. And you seem to alos have picked a nice city in india to stay in.

Not sure if you have ever been to india for a long term stay, it takes some time to adapt to it. I hope you have already picked out your future home, and have all the necessary shopping lists compiled already.

Some people just pile on more and more, so that they don't have any free time to sit and mope about. I personally have lots of free time, so i can complain about everything, that, and drink lots and lots of tea

i assume you are bringing pets into india, so have you taken time to read the latest rules, and taken care of all those formalities?

Now, are you going to india on a visa? If yes, then what kind? I ask, because there are some restrictions on what you can do, based on the visa you have. Or is this why you mention cryptically, that you cannot work.

How could anyone mistake it for a personal ad. another kind of ad, possible, but not a personal ad

i am sure there will be others, coming along, and asking more of the same questions.

There are some corporate groups that do long distance cycling, are those activities something you' be interested in? Current trend in the pune forum on IM is leaning towards restaurants and places to have good times, and does not seem to include the interests you state in your post.

on thread to look at would be the pune meetups, and attend one, there seem to be some regular IMers in that town. Locals can give you more offline help in a single conversation sometimes. That thread is : http://www.indiamike.com/india/india...ups-t55402/27/

May i wish you good luck, and enjoyment in your this adventure.
