Did you check the boards in the Osho Ashram itself, near the health department, as they often have helpful notes of therapists.
Be sure to check out and research the person well that you chose to work on your back. Classical chiropractors are often not recommended for serious back problems.
Since you moved from Germany, you might be able to read German. Check this here:

This is a General Practitioner who developed a new way of understanding how the body moves and how pain results, and can be resolved.

U must not go to Chiro unless u r thoroghly investigated. Its still a developing science. Why dont u go to a good Physical Therapist.

suz has already bee recommended by a regular doctor, which is probably good enough recommendation. Alopathy is only a developing science too!

My sincere apology to everyone if have hurt your sentiment.
Thanks to all of you for replying. I had been through a full checkup already with all the "usual" medical tests done. Everything is perfectly normal as per the reports, & after finding the muscle imbalance using a test: Myovision, she suggested me to go to a Chiropractor to get the "tensed" muscles relax.
She also mentioned that I could even try Physiotherapist for exercises, if I can't find a nice Chiropractor. She wasn't knowing of any for recommendation but she told me that there are a few around Koregaon Park.

Physiotherapist
I would reccommend that you try a good physiotherapist first. Basically you need to stretch or strengthen muscles for a long term benefit. Manipulation/mobilization would make you feel very good temporarily. Exercise is a science & we all can understand and is a simple medicine it self. Sancheti Hospital or there must be many clinics around.
Thanks for the opinions. But the strange part is I'm quite fit, jog around, do weights & theoretically there should not be any problem with my muscles. I try to be fit & if I'm taking time to listen to my body & living a healthy life, I wonder how the exercise from chiropractor or physiotherapist will help? I'm already doing the "normal" fit exercises for my muscles.
Anyhow, I'll try those and see what difference they make, if any.

Suz - I am not sure if this person is a chiropractor - but apparently he is absolutely brilliant. A colleague was suffering from severe back pain for years and was advised by his doctor to go for surgery. Then by chance he went to this doctor who suggested some really good exercises for him. This was over a year back and ever since he hasn't had any back problems. And he recommends him very highly. His name is Doctor Saranpani - 26134475 and 9922226531. And apparently his office is close to MG Road - so not too far away from Koregaon Park.
You might want to check him out.
Chiropractor in Pune
Hi Suz, the guy that fordfirestone is talking about is Rajiv Sharangpani (his website is at http://www.drrajivsharangpani.com/), and I would NOT (repeat NOT) recommend him.
I have got a ruptured vertebral disc, which is causing me chronic sciatica. Basically, I cannot walk for more than a few minutes without severe pain in both legs. Dr Sharangpani was recommended to me and I went to see him 10 days ago. It was a complete waste of time.
First I waited for over an hour to see him and then when I did see him, I was with him for less than 5 minutes and he charged me Rs 600 for the privilege! He didn't want to know about my medical history, and seemed to be least interested in knowing what my present problem was. I showed him an MRI scan I had done recently - he said I'd wasted my money and shouldn't have bothered having it done (but gave no explanation why).
He then proceeded to show me a few exercises to do at home without giving me any physical examination whatsoever. He said my pain would vanish within 2 days and I could return to the sport that I love - paragliding - after 11 days! My orthopaedic surgeon has advised me never to paraglide again as a bad fall could cause further damage to an already damaged spine. Even with my limited knowledge of things medical, I have enough sense to realise that I cannot risk paragliding in 11 days even if I do make a miraculous recovery. It is plainly irresponsible to give the advice that Dr Sharangpani gave to me.
The exercises he gave me were simple and very well known exercises that anyone could have found in a few minutes on the internet (e.g. search 'exercises to strengthen lower back' on Google).
Needless to say that 10 days on my symptoms have not vanished much to my dismay.
It may be that the good Dr has helped people, but that was NOT my experience of him. I would NOT recommend him to anyone.
As for Chiropractors - there are only 3 Chiropractors in India registered with the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors. Two are in Goa and one is in Bangalore. Please follow this link http://www.indiachiropractic.com/clinics.htm
I hope the above information helps and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi Suz, I hope you have found relief for your pain by now. In case you have not then the following links may be of use to you. Dr Modi appears to be the 'Chiropractor' you are looking for. I have never been to Dr Modi myself (but am seriously thinking of doing so).

Hi Suz
Just an update. I went to Dr Modi for the 2nd time yesterday and there are definite signs of pain reduction in the Sciatica that I have now had for nearly two months. I am hoping that a couple more visits will see me completely pain free.
Dr Modi does indeed use traditional chiropratic manipulation methods.
