It is about 10 years since i last trekked the Himalayas - a small one to Tungnath / Chandrashila. (
Here is a link to my travelogue there :http://footprintsforever.com/wp/tung...l-himalayas-i/ )

In 2015 I have been to Sikim for a short vacation . In beyween I have travelled about 18 countries all over the world. But the love for Himalayas has not really flushed out of my system. I am still a fool, dreaming of building an eco-resort in the Himalayas and living my presently-matured years there.

Times have changed, so has market prices.

Thread of 5 Lakhs/

I have changed the price based on my abilities, and starting it anew.

My shortlisted areas are Uttranchal -Kumaon or Ravangla-Jorethang-Namchi - Kaluk in West Sikkim . Now both places have rules in-force which states non-residents are not allowed to buy land .. and thus anyways seem an uphill task. But I believe the roundabout approach is leasing for a period of 30 Years (Sikkim) , not sure what the thum-rules are for Kumaon - Utranchal.

The other option may be Himachal, but here again non-residents are only offered a small piece of land ( around 2500 sq ft)

Need to find :
1. some local contacts who can help connect to land owners/agents/dealers.
2. People with similar mindsets and see if we can chalk out a business model.
3. Any updates or news regarding the same.

Looking for a fraternity.

Thanks,
Samit

Hi Samit, am looking to buy a piece of land in UK, maybe in the Chamoli district. Yes, I know it's backward, but guess that also means cheap land. Also, my budget is substantially lower than yours. Would love to hear from you.
