The pics of hfot2 are after snowfall, not the frozen lake. Depending on how strong the snowfall has been and whether the photo is taken after the first or fifth snowfall of the season, the levels will be different. It can easily change by 8 to 10 feet within three or four snowfall, sometimes even less.
If you find my posts confrontationist, please bear, I am an old frustrated guy who has nothing better to do than sit on rocking chair and curse the world whole day

Thanks. Living in snow country, I pretty much figured it was either that or massive Spring snowmelt.

It is indeed the Big Bull Temple in Bangalore.

Not many people go around the back and see the shikhara. The gopuram is the way more prominent feature of the temple and visible from a fair distance away.

The shivling is right opposite the Ganesha idol at the back of the Nandi.

Well done rshalder for getting the photo match as well as the temple name and Aarosh for putting it across the line.

Puzzle over.

Have you visited the "Bugle Rock Park" beside the temple and the "Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple" nearby? We are visiting Bangalore next week for 3 days (decided after seeing this puzzle place ) so please give more info

So you want me to give away all the further puzzle places beforehand??

Yes, did the temple circle and more and the mysore visit.

Depending on your interest, you can select the places you want to visit.
You can spend 1, 2 or 3 days there.
If you have kids accompanying, you can plan somethings for them too.
You could probably start a thread and get more information there.
I am planning to pen down my visit there, but that could take an year or so to be completed. So lets not wait for that - it may be useful only for your 3rd or 4th visit to Bangalore.
