I thought you wanted a review on that specific model since you plan to buy the second hand one. I think it is not in production now.

Yes, Aarosh is correct.

The product is now obsolete and newer version has arrived.

In electronics one should go for newer version to get benefit of upcoming technologies.

@prakaant, i have one observation. Most of the newer versions/updates of today's electronic gadgets are not substantial technological advancement, but mere marketing gimmics.
How does a wifi connectivity matter to a camera? Or repositioning of a button? Updation of software from digic 4 to digic "n", iphone "n", android n+n...carl zeiss lens on one 20k phone, motorola phone with Hasselblad attachment....
The yield remains same...a shaken and tilted horizon nature photography, overexposed portraits, weird looking selfies....and thats all!!

Yes, Rajat, I agree with you.

Therefore, review and comparison are helpful in finding the differences...

It's actually very useful...it allows photos to be backed up easily and automatically. You would know its value if (like me) you ever had a camera stolen.

@RPG, but i am yet to use the wifi connectivity feature, my windows phone is not compatible, nikon didnot release any app for windows os.
And i have seen one issue while transferring jpeg images number of times-they loose details/clarity sometimes though the file size does not change. Is it true or just my observation is not correct? This is a query to the photographers/professionals. I guess this doesnot happen with raw formats.

There seems to be some confusion somewhere.

Wi-fi feature comes as pre-installed feature in newly launched models, and no app will be released for the same to enable wi-fi capability in older cameras.

Further, it is not possible to get details/clarity lost while transferring jpeg images from camera to laptop/PC.

The perceived change in colour/contrast/sharpness etc is mainly due to change in the viewing medium, as it seems to me. You are watching an image on the camera LCD , then you transfer the same file and watch it on your laptop, two different screens , different sizes and everything , hence the different output.
For wifi related use Nikon has come out with a very imperfect software called "Snapbridge" , Many like me use QDSLR , a paid software to use the Wifi and other features , seamlessly along with phones/tabs.
On a different note , Wifi in camera is a very useful addition IMO , mainly related to ease out the workflow but of course that rarely improves your images per se .

"Digic"s are CPUs used by Canon. The numeral denotes generation, each being more or less twice as fast and/or power efficient as the previous one.

Software or firmware also cannot be dismissed as trivial. Poorly designed firmware, still found on Sony and Fuji flagships IMO, gets in the way. Apple, OTOH, has convincingly managed to emulate shallow DOF with their latest software.

Great...i'll try these software then.
But i couldnot connect nikon d5300 with my lumia 730 on windows 8.1.
Somnath-da, i am not talking about once or twice to and from camera sd card to laptop. This difference appears to me when i transfer the files multiple times from main camera sd card to main laptop, then to pendrive, next another laptop, then to phone sd card, and then back to the main laptop-the photo quality appears to be little inferior to my eyes.
Regarding the processor upgradation, it's same situation like normal computer chips-processor becomes faster but bottlenecks remain at bus speed and other components.
Anyway, my personal view is electronic gadgets could have more lifetime. Lets see what is waiting for us in IOT era.

I use the QDSLR for android , unsure about the Windows mobile platform.
