It seems like each month there is a new company making lenses for DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. Is there any website or store in India which sells these at a reasonable price?

Check Videolinks. Com. I have bought lot many things from them. Completely trusty.

3rd Party Lenses

I have bought a couple of small things from them too. Very good.
Lenses on their site? Or did you call and ask?

Also fotocentreindia.com.

Jjmehta? I've sourced two second-hand lenses from their forum. I bought my camera from them , but via Amazon.

There's always Amazon. And, yes, Aliexpress, for some of the Chinese stuff.

f.
Usually I call Anish , the owner and a friend . The advantage is that even if the article is not listed in the site he usually gets it for you. An impeccable professional.
And yes I have bought loads of stuff from JJ Mehta forum but strictly from known members.

Thanks Somnath. I approach sending thousands of RS to a stranger on a relatively-new-to-me forum with huge trepidation! So far, I made deals with two good people.

I bought a small thing from them, via Amazon. It was exactly the item as listed on on Amazon, but I had a later version in mind. I let them know that I was very happy with their packing and speed of service, but disappointed by my own mistake. He immediately got on the phone and offered an exchange, without paying the difference in cost.

Yes. A good guy

Has anyone used Arihantdigi.com? Their site seems to be nonfunctional, always ending the checkout process with We dont have facility to place the order now. Please contact our customerservice whatever the payment method selected.

It is just that they have something I want at the right price, whereas every other Indian online source has it at a very wrong price!

"It is just that they have something I want at the right price, whereas every other Indian online source has it at a very wrong price!"

This reminds me of the bloke who goes into a shop and asks for an item, to be told it is 20. Bloke replies that another shop is charging only 10 for the same item, but it is out of stock there. Shopkeeper replies that when we are out of stock our price is just 10 too...

The cheapo website where you can't pay for stuff sounds a bit iffy. You phone and maybe they try to sell you something else instead, or worse?

It does seem strange: it is quite an elaborate site, with plenty of "stock." But it doesn't seem to work.

Anyway, it was a smaller camera bag that I wanted. I found a cheaper one of the right size on Amazon, ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. But I still want the one I wanted in the first place!
