Does anyone know if one can bring a dog in-cabin to New Delhi under the new rule issued in April?

I'm traveling from US-New Delhi. Both Lufthansa USA and Lufthansa Germany says they are booking dogs in-cabin to New Delhi and in fact have booked my dog. I called the customs at IGI airport and at first they said no dogs in-cabin. But when I told them that Lufthansa is booking dogs in-cabin, they said then that is fine, it is up to the airlines.

I'm an OCI card holder, transferring residence and have an agent in Delhi who is taking care of the NOC. I have in the past flown with the same dog on lufthansa from UK- US with no problems.

Apparently Air India allows if the dog is less than 6kg.
Not sure about Spice and Jet, the only other two that fly animals.
The time will come when men will look upon the murder of animals as they look upon the murder of men.

there was a post a few days ago that said with one of the private airlies, only two dogs per flight were allowed. you need to inform them as early as possible about your travel with a pet.

I cannot locate that post, but you could search for it. Birds, who replied to your mail, posted this in June of this year. But i don't know what changed between now and then for him to reply like he did above. Does it have to do with within india flights, or overseas flights?

PS: Here it is.

As long as you fulfill the requirements under T.R, it does not matter to the Customs, if the pets brought in cabin or cargo. They don't come to aircraft to check where are the animals
