Do you know any place in India where I can volunteer during my spring break from college? I want to travel and still get time to explore on my own but I also want to spend my time helping somewhere or someone. My dates of travel are March 11 - 21, 2011.

Jasd215 - please do not post the same question in multiple places. I am sure the moderators will be by eventually to delete 2 of your 3 duplicate posts.

Do look at the similar threads as you question has been asked many many times. If you have a specific question about volunteering do post it and those of us who can will respond.

There are plenty of short-term volunteer oppurtunities in Mcleod Ganj - however most groups want a minimum 2 week commitment, often a minimum one month commitment as it is quite disruptive to have volunteers coming and going, necissitating someone to be consitently providing orientation.

Do consider your reason for volunteering and what type of work you would like to do - also what type of skills do you bring to the table? With that type of information we may be able to point you in a more specific dirrection.

Sorry about the triple post.
I have changed plans due to timing and other trips but I will now be looking to travel and still try to volunteer from May 25, 2011 - June 17, 2011.
Is this the monsoon time in India? Does that time make it harder for first time travelers to India?
