Dear Friend,

Planning for a trip for my friend and his family for Bhutan from 21st may ( reaching Phuntsholling ) to 26th May ( morning train to kolkata from NJP)

Can anybody please suggest an itinerary

Is a 5 day trip sufficient to see Bhutan ?

Regards

I would say that "to see" Bhutan you could of course get away with 5 days if you restrict yourself to the western parts of the country (Paro, Thimpu and Punaka). My experience is a couple of years old but it takes quite some time to travel from Phuntsholing to Paro/Thimpu (and equally back again!). If you would like to see the more untouched eastern parts of the country you would probably need more time. Note that it is possible to enter/exit Bhutan also at Samdrup Jongkhar which could be convenient if you catch a train at Guwahati.

Thank you so much..I guess that permit procedure will take probably a day at Phuntsholing....Let's see...Other option could be to go to North Sikkim from NJP
