Dear IndiaMikers,
This post is intended for anyone who wishes to apply for an Arunachal Pradesh ILP in Guwahati. The Deputy Resident Commissioner's office has shifted from its old address in Chandmari (near the Commerce College) to Rukminigaon. Not being from Guwahati, I wasted a whole day just to locate the new office. I hope this post saves others from making the same mistake. Government websites being what they are, you won't find this updated address elsewhere on the Internet.

P.S. If you, like me, prefer to use local transport, simply get into a city bus heading to Khanapara. You can get these buses from the beginning of G.S. Road, very near the railway station -- just ask anyone in case you're not sure. Rukminigaon is the stop just before "Six Mile" (where Nagaland House is located).

Thumbs up Full Road Way Information to Visit the Arunachal House at Guwahati, Assam.

Dear Mikers,
Definitely the Government websites has still not located the new and the present address of the Arunachal ILP Office i.e. Arunachal House in Guwahati, Assam. The simple way to reach there is to get the 21 no. bus heading to Khanapara from G.S.Road & 4 no. bus heading to Panjabari from R.G. Baruah Road and you'll reach to Rukminigaon where presently the Arunachal House is located. Rukminigaon bus stop is just next to "Downtown" and just before "Six-Mile".

Need help with Public transport from Tezpur to Tawang

Hi

Me and a couple of my friends (5) are planning to do Tawang in the first week of March. We will first be at the Kaziranga and start the trip from there.

Is there a public transport to get to Tezpur and then to Bomdila. I understand that there are buses. Any idea about the timings from Tezpur and the cost?

Also how do we hire a cab for Tawang at Bomdila? What do they typically charge? We just need one way. Timings and location in Bomdila where we need to get to?

Thanks
Sriram

I am also doing this trip in about 7-10 days time and would be interested to know about getting from Kaziranga to Tawang, or indeed to travel with anyone who is going in that direction.

Arunachal is too big and too remote and too complex with entry formalities to cover even in a month, forget it in a 9/10days. August is not a good month because of very heavy monsoon. I would suggest you plan in November onwards for an Arunachal trip. The state has 11 tourism cicuits and clearly having 3 zones, western, central and eastern. Western sector is most popular with places like Tawang where you would find some toursim infrastructure. But in other places you need careful planning for accommodations as you may have to depend only on Govt RH/CH.

Even Indian Nationals do need ILP for visiting Arunachal and it is usally issued for 2 weeks at max, so you have to carefully plan / obtain multiple permits to make your trip a success.

Is this still address still valid? What are the office timings?
And can I apply on Friday and collect the permit on Monday?

Thanks,
