Hi,

I am planning a trip to north bengal for 5 days. The goal is to visit most off beat places there, with lesser crowd. Will be doing lots of photography, so scenic beauties are a plus. Any suggestion?

I have thought of visiting these places - Icche Gaon, Kolakham, Lava, Rishop, Lolegaon, Samsing, Namchi.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

My journey date will 27.10.2017 (Sealdah to Hasimara), return date will 02.11.2017 (Apdj to SDAH). I already booked Hollong Bunglow and Jayanti Bunglow. I just want to know, the rail is reach timely? Also recently I see a news, all the major hotel will be closed by order "Green Tribunal Court". Is it applicable on Oct 2017? Awaiting for your reply.

After 104 Days of Bandh, GJM Ends Strike in Darjeeling Hills

Quote:

After 104 days, the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) ended its strike demanding a separate Gorkhaland state in the Darjeeling hills.

Earlier in the day, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had appealed to the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) to withdraw the ongoing strike in Darjeeling hills for a separate Gorkhaland state and asked the Union home secretary to convene an official-level meeting to discuss all related issues.

In a statement, the home minister said that in a democracy, dialogue is the only way out to resolve any problem and solutions can be found through restraint and mutual dialogue within the legal ambit.

"I appeal to the GJM and its leader Bimal Gurung to withdraw the ongoing bandh and to help create a conducive atmosphere for allowing normalcy to return to the area, particularly in view of the festival season," he said as the indefinite shutdown to press for a separate state of Gorkhaland continued for 104th day.

No. on 20th Mr. Dhakal(Jhushing) & Mr. Lalit(Linzey) advised me not to go there if the strike called off before puja and I had cancelled the trek for few months.

But I had not cancelled the train ticket and had searched for few hours, book the Lamthang Resort in Naku and quickly arranged another trip in West Sikkim.
