Since many years I want to visit the impressive temples of Kiradu but for one reason or another, have never been there.

In my next trip to India next March-April I want to visit again Jaisalmer and the southern part of the Thar Desert. Kiradu is this time a priority and Barmer is the place to stay.

As far as I must stay in Barmer I'm almost sure that there are loads of beautiful villages with pretty mud walled houses...., but I would like to have an idea of how many days I must stay in Barmer and where.

I've seen in Indiamike few post about this area although Natasha Chanda Acharya started a thread years ago about Kiradu. Any more information????

Do you know places between Jaisalmer - Barmer - Jodhpur that worth the visit????? because I must decide how to travel between this places.

Any information about this "Off the beaten trail area" is welcomed.

All the best

Jorge

Hi jorge. This is not the reply to your query. Honestly I have no idea about the places. I just replied because there was just one reply to your post (that was also you only!) whereas the next post was meximum viewed - because it was about 'honeymoon'.

So post your queries with some juice in it - there will be numerous response! Cheers...

I'm here in Indiamike since years and don't really care if there are no replies. It seems the thread was open at the correct forum "Off the beaten trail"...., that's why this places remain "off the beaten..........,even for indiamikers.

All the best

The problem is Jorge, we normally rely on a certain member to reply to this kind of question, and that member is YOU.

Thanks Steven and NowIn..., I have got quite a lot of information in art books about Kiradu, the matter is: How is really Barmer??? May I see other interesting places around???

The problem when searching on the net is that the info is not always very accurate because if I trust it, there are loads of beautiful hamlets around Barmer with mud walled houses and the "real rajasthani ambiance...", later on I'll find only poor and dirty places with not very friendly people : , nevertheless I still have quite a lot of time before traveling to get some more information.

All the best

I agree, when I see a post by Jorge, I immediately think - good, off-piste place, one to remember!

Wasn't it brishti who was looking for a mud hut?
