My friend and I are planning to visit the Hornbill festival 2012. We are particularly interested in photography, both street photography as well as landscapes. The questions that I had are:

1) Is there any particular day on which it's best to visit, in terms of getting to see a lot of the various cultural aspects (food, clothes, dances) etc of Nagaland and get to interact with the participants?
2) Where to stay in Kohima? Our budget would be around Rs 700-1000 per day, per person.
3) How to get from Dibrugarh/Sibsagar in Assam to Kohima? Is there any car rental agency that that is reliable and comfortable?
4) What other must-see places around Kohima? I am aware of the war cemetery in Kohima.
5) What are the souvenirs that I can buy in Kohima to take home? Something small and not too expensive.

I hope someone can help me out with some of these queries.

Thanks in advance,
