Hello everybody.
I will be visiting Assam and Nagaland on February. I would need your ideas on something unusual and not terribly touristic to visit during my 22 days tour. Will be traveling alone and with an open itinerary. Will be pleased to give up the Sekrenyi festival for something still uncontaminated and genuine.
Thanks a lot for help

Hi, I visited Assam and Nagaland recently. Make sure you have permit for Nagaland. You can go for the Dzukou Valley trek. I couldn't do it since since we didnt have enough time but I might go again this year just for the trek. It is supposed to be very good! and also, since you have 22 days with you, why don't nyou include Cherapunjee in your tour and do the 'double decker living root bridge' trek... you'll love it...

Also visit the ' Nagaland Heritage village' in Kohima. They have replicas of the tribal houses which is again wonderful.Make sure you carry some mosquito repellent with you. There are lot of mosquitoes all over Asssam and Nagaland.

This is not necessarily correct information. Up until and including the end of 2011, foreign tourists DID NOT require any permits for Nagaland; Indian nationals DID require an ILP for Nagaland.

Even You planned Assam and nagaland - Dont Miss Shilong (150 kms from Guwahaty (capital of Assam)). Shilong is a great place for Music and beautiful mountains.

Also plan to go Kajiranga National forest.
