Easiest way to top up airtel is via amazon.in . Login to amazon.in using your own amazon account.

Remember to use a card without forex fees to avoid currency transaction charges on rupee to dollar conversion.

Navigate to mobile recharge option from the amazon.in website and enter your number ( check if the state/region you bought the SIM from is correct as the SIM's are region specific )

Top up with the amount of the offer you want to use. For example as I wanted the Rs149 offer , I topped up my airtel with 149 to activate the offer.

PS: To view the offers for your SIM , download the airtel app and register and go to view offers .

Really appreciate your advice.

I see Delhi has, but any idea about Mumbai?
Hey guys, thank you so much for all you input. Just wanted to provide an update incase anyone else comes across this thread and is looking for the same.

So, the network provider available at the airport is Airtel. The desk is located after baggage claim. You can't miss the desk as it's what you will absolutely pass by on the way out. Along with the desk, there are 3 currency exchange (make sure to ask all 3 of them what you will get for your money - I ended up getting a littlr bit more from SBI)

Fortunately, I ended up getting a friend to lend me their spare sim so I can't advise on thr pricing. However, in my opinion if you want to have peace of mind, it's worth just picking up the SIM at the airport itself.

Does anyone know whether it would be possible to get a new SIM/mobile connection between a 2AM arrival and a 5AM departure (for a domestic flight)?

The SIM from the airport should cost you less than $3 for 28 days .

If you are travelling to BOM or DEL the phone SIM booths are open for 24 hours . Not sure about other airports.

Remember to.carry photocopy of your passport/a photo and a printout with the address of the hotel you are staying .

However it might take a few hours or maybe up to a day for the SIM to be activated .

If you are extremely worried about things going wrong and being unable to get a SIM at the airport, why dont you hire the phone from the agent for a day or two till your Local sim is sorted..
will just the address of the hote suffice or will i need something with our hotel reservations on it?
